The Confederacy of Excaria is a sovereign state in [[Sector 15 -4]] and a founding member of the [[Union]]. It is a heavily militarised system which relies heavily on imported raw materials to keep its factories running.

The Confederacy was originally formed out of a shared desire for protection against raiders that attacked the different worlds in the Excaria System. Later, the Confederacy also picked up trading and infrastructure as key points of control.

The government of Excaria resides on a space station between the twin suns of Excaria. The station is a magnificent amalgamation of crystal and metal in a ring shape, with a separate station in its centre where the Excarian Council meets. The station has some of the most magnificent pieces of art from all corners of the galaxy on display, brought back by Excarian explorers.

The Confederacy of Excaria has two small colonies outside this system which are Protectorates. These colonies are considered to be members of the Union, but are registered as outer regions, not under the normal rules for [[Union]] worlds due to the unique circumstances. Given the small population of these colonies, this has very little effect on the Union itself.

The Confederacy competes heavily with the [[Holy Heimgolian Theocracy]] in regards to importing raw materials, though since the formation of the [[Union]] this has always been done in a peaceful manner.
