Gas Giants
Wikipedia on Gas Giants

Gas Giants are large, gaseous planets with many moons, allowing you to create additional orbital space. Gas Giants are paid for using (:gas-mass) - thus, weaker stars can compensate by having more gas giants. Gas Giants use one orbit (either (:cold-orbit), (:goldilocks-orbit) or (:hot-orbit)) each.

Gas Giants come in three varieties, Ice Giants, like Neptune and Uranus, Jovian Giants like Saturn and the titular Jupiter, and Brown Dwarves, which lie between Gas Giants and stars.

Gas Giants are made of gas and it is not possible to settle on them. However, it is possible to build large space stations in orbit to mine (:gasses) gasses. Gas Giants, count as three zones in which (:gas) gasses can be mined. Specifically each zone allows the construction of a Gasses Zone, a Gasses Augmentation Zone or a power zone. They may also be upgraded as normal. You cannot mine for other resources, nor produce products or special goods on a Gas Giant. Gas Giants cannot be terraformed and cannot have Focus.

Gas Giants provide (:power) power in their orbit which could be transferred as normal or used locally. The amount of power is listed in the table below.

^ ^ Planet Type ^ Cost ( (:hot-orbit) ) ^ Cost ( (:goldilocks-orbit) ) ^ Cost ( (:cold-orbit) ) ^ (:lunar-orbit) Lunar orbits ^ (:gasses) Gas Zones ^ (:power) Power Provided ^
