[ rules:system creation, rules:oceans ]

Terrestrial planets and moons in goldilocks orbit may have oceans of liquid water. Oceans may cover the entire planet, large or small parts or may even be in the form of lakes, seas and rivers at the players choice. The exact details of this have no influence on the statistics.

Advantages
 * A (:gold-orbit) Goldilocks world with a water ocean is considered Habitable and may thus have Natural Life, allowing (:organics) Organics to be grown.
 * If a world with a water ocean also has an atmosphere, it grants a +10 bonus to (:organics).
 * A world with a Type II atmosphere and a water ocean gains a +5 bonus to all production
 * A world with a Type I atmosphere and a water ocean gains a +10 bonus to all production.

Cost
The cost of an ocean depends on the size of the world:

^ World Type ^ Biomass cost for oceans ^
| Small moon | 1 (:bio-mass) |
| Medium moon | 3 (:bio-mass) |
| Large moon, small planet | 7 (:bio-mass) |
| Medium planet | 19 (:bio-mass) |
| Large planet | 37 (:bio-mass) |
