This guide gets you started on this site.
Hello and welcome to the Union! This place hosts a Star Wars inspired role-playing game, focussed around inter-galactic politics, Jedi and whatever the galaxy can throw at you.
You can take control of a member of the Union, an intergalactic federation of many systems. As a member, you have your own Star System with planets and billions of souls, you can influence galactic politics with your Jedi, and you can run intergalactic corporations.
This page will help you get started on this page. This site is called FWURG, an abbreviation for Free World Union Role playing Game. To find out more about the concept of roleplaying, please see our Roleplaying Guide.
Our roleplaying game is based on the Star Wars universe, featuring some known elements merged with our own input to form a new galaxy. Our galaxy consists of various free worlds which together form the Union. There are many different races, factions and systems. There are also other super-powers besides the Union, like the Hutt Families and the Slave Rebellion. The Union has a Senate with a chancellor who rules this part of the galaxy.
As mentioned, Fwurg is a roleplaying game and you can participate as much or as little as you want. The degree of participation depends on what kind of characters you want to play and you can have one or more characters of different types:
As a player, you can make your own world with your own race and original characters and we encourage you to do so! If you have an idea that does not fit with the rules, please contact a storyteller so they can help you make your idea a reality! You can also use existing races and add to existing story-lines but if you use a race or story created by another player, you should ask the creator for permission to ensure there are no conflicts.
Worlds have different sizes and influences. We distinguish levels of participation for worlds, depending on their level of involvement.
The first level is Candidate World. This status is used when a player is designing their world so they can start playing while the storytellers help them get everything in order. If a world is a Candidate World, this is used to indicate that the world is being judged for entry into the Union.
Approved worlds can have different level of participation.
But there is more: by creating more details, and fleshing out your world you can switch to other levels of participation! Contact a Storyteller if you want to do so.
The top of our website is divided into the title part (with some in-game banners to the right), and a menu bar.
Each menu option links you to a different part of the site (from left to right):
To roleplay you first have to make and account on the forum. You make first your general (out-of-game) account and you can later create and link accounts of your new characters. See the Creating an Account and using the account switcher.
We have a set of guides which can help you to get started with roleplaying, they will assume you already have an account:
These guidelines are not set in stone, but if you go outside of them, please check with a Storyteller first to see how we can make it work.
