Djana Military Research Centre

The Djana Military Research Centre is located in the Niras system, just inside Veolian Commonwealth territory on the border to sector 10 -6. The research centre is jointly operated by the Veolian Commonwealth, the Unified Republic of Darya and the Teprogrenaian Consensus. The centre became operational in 98, and mentioned in the Union Central News.

The Niras system is a small system with a few small worlds orbiting a small white sun. The system is uninhabitable due to the large amount of asteroid belts, whose orbits regularly intersects those of the five small worlds. In fact, if the Djana military research centre didn't feature a power core and shield generator capable of projecting a shield of roughly 30 kilometers in diameter, this location would not be able to sustain any structures.

Next to the impressive power core, the research centre is surrounded by a small settlement, capable of supporting roughly 100 000 people. The settlement is controlled by the House Iaat, who have been gifted these lands by the emperor.

Running the research facility itself is the director, who is responsible for the day to day operations of the centre, and determining the scientific direction of the centre's projects. They have a broad scope of freedom to determine where funding is spent. Executive decisions on whether a technology will be fully developed to be deployable on a galactic scale are in the hands centre's of the Board of Oversight.

The first director was former chancellor and senator of Confederacy of Excaria, mister Bolv'ar, until his untimely death on 2014-01-18. Mister Bolv'ar led the facility in the capacity of director. After the death of mister Bolv'ar the facility's day-to-day affairs were observed by an interim director. On 2015-01-25, 190, mister Aunzora was appointed to the position of director.

In 232, the Unified Republic of Darya, represented by director August Smolak, withdrew as a partner in the Djana Military Research Centre. This has left an empty seat on the board of oversight. This has led to a new call for partners.

The Board of Oversight consists of a representative from each of the founding members. Any decision by the Board of Oversight has to be unanimous.
