The Cradle is a space station with a maximum width of 900 kilometres. It consist of a gigantic central power station, where also the stellar drive is located. It has three arms with all a balanced variety of factories, farms and other necessary amenities. Both to prevent weak spots, and because the space station is just way too big to focus an entire wing on one subject.

When the Teprogrenaian Consensus first developed space travel, they were overwhelmed by the amount of chaos and violence in the galaxy. They designed The Cradle as a contingency plan if their planet would ever be targeted for war. It serves as a giant defence station, and when the planet would become inhabitable or not safe to live any more, The Cradle would bring everybody to a new, safer place to start anew. In the many, many generations it took them to learn to fight space battles they learned the thin line between strong defence forces and threatening forces. Therefore The Cradle would never be equipped with cannons which could destroy more than destroyer class ships. In this way the Teprogrenaian Consensus hopes to other factions don't feel the urge to destroy the station, as it would cost them a lot of ships, while The Cradle would be incapable of destroying anything bigger then a ship.

Inside the space station is a fully self sustaining ecology, with natural life, farms and recreation facilities. Many Teprogrena born on The Cradle never leave the station, or even have seen the entire station.
