In all combat systems used in FWURG, we use the rings of defence. Though they are called the 'rings of defence', they also cover the three modes of attack.
Rings of defence are used by the Jedi Combat rules
Rings of defence are used by the Fleet Battle rules
/
: These are grand, wide and strong attacks.
In a Jedi context these attacks involve grand sweeping blows and large slashes to attack at range.Such attacks are generally avoided by dodging out of their way. Grenades and other explosives are also outer ring attacks.
In a fleet context these attacks involves grand salvoes of capital ship cannons. These attacks are very powerful and can pulverize other vessels. Such attacks are generally avoided by dodging out of their way.
/
: These attacks are quick and efficient direct attacks.
In a jedi context attacks are quick, short slashes and cuts. Such attacks are generally less spectacularly destructive, but since lightsabers are rather powerful, being cut by one is generally fatal as the trauma to the body is enough to send a body into shock. The attacks are avoided by blocking, as the force behind them is lower, making them easier to block.
In a fleet context these attacks are executed by corvettes and bombers. Such attacks are generally less spectacular, but are an effective measure when the enemy is capable of dodging salvoes of capital ship fire. These attacks are defended against with shielding and interceptors.
/
: These attacks are light and fast strikes.
In a jedi context these attacks are piercing strikes aimed to penetrate the body. To defend against them, blows are deflected away from the body, which may leave the opponent open to counter attack
In a fleet context these attacks are usually executed by fighters or troops. Such attack are defended against with point defence and defensive positions.
