Type I Atmosphere

Type I Atmosphere

A Type I Atmosphere from space.

Type I atmospheres have appropriate levels of oxygen and hydrogen to be breathable by the majority of species in the galaxy. Some contaminants or other trace gases may still be present but not so as to cause significant problems. Worlds with these types of atmospheres always have indigenous life: plant life or some analogy that frees oxygen must be present on all worlds with a Type I atmosphere as all oxygen in the atmosphere would have been bound to other elements within a matter of months without such life to free it up. Since the air of a Type I atmosphere is safely breathable, no breathing equipment is necessary.

Terrestrial planets and moons in goldilocks orbit with Natural Life can have a Type I Atmosphere.

Advantages

Cost

The cost of a Type I Atmosphere depends on the size of the world:

World Type Biomass cost for Type I Atmosphere
Small moon 4
Medium moon 12
Large moon, small planet 28
Medium planet 76
Large planet 148

Additionally, a world must have Natural Life to be able to have a Type I atmosphere.
