A significant portion of buildings is made below the surface. This is possible due to the core of your planet being solid and provides more space. The planet with underworld has 3 extra zones, and gains the Solidified Core climate as an extra climate (the planet now allowing up to four climates).
Note: the 3 zones are normal zones in all aspects, except 
cost. As such, you have to pay extra 
for Atmospheres, Oceans and Natural Life.
