House Dewa is known for two things: everyone owes them money and they use marriage as their main weapon. House Dewa carefully manages their influence on the Veolian economy, and hope to extend this influence to the Union. They have large stakes in most of the system-wide Veolian corporations, and their members hold key positions in the multitude of boards and stakeholder councils.

Long ago the elders of House Dewa determined that the strength of a bloodline can be measured in how widely spread it is. To this end they formulated a strategy that allows most children to marry into strong bloodlines. The house actually maintains several schools where young men and women are taught the finer points of marriage.
