S4N8 is a class 3 science servant droid. It has 4 legs and 2 arms, a lower body and a small upper body with head and can speak. When curled up it is a litter bigger than basket ball size (36 cm) and weights about 30 kg. It looks like metal but is build from a combination of strong and light metals/alloys, platics and carbon. When unfolded and standing will be about 60 cm height (but it can stretch out further up to a meter with its legs).

To help scientist in their work S4 can do tasks like reporting and recording data, make calculations, do experiments etc. It has good calculative and cognitive powers; it can program and adjust systems. Furthermore it has fine mechanics and good maneuverability; it can handle small samples and glasswork, walk on wall and ceiling and under its belly it has thrusters to fly and hover.

In its body it has stored some tools to make adjustment on the set-up. He also carries various scientific equipment (nano lab-on-chips),like atomic and structural analysis, properties etc.) with a vast database with references, universal synthesizer (can make small amounts of any material), ultra wave sensors (to measure speed, size measure from large objects to atoms) and more. S4 has some probe to help him do various analyses. One of them is the biological Ixa’a probe used to investigate the internals of an organism. It is smaller than a fruit fly but cannot fly only walk/swim on any surface or liquid. It has limited optical view of it surroundings. He has a storage room were T'sal has put some spyware like transmitter and small microphones etc.

S4 has a sign language so he and T'sal can communication under various circumstances. There are various codes. Code Niok meant that everything is recorded, that results of analyses are given with a certain pattern blinking of lamps and other no conspicuous actions.
