The very first Traveller, Shadow of War pioneered much of the technology and procedures used in the creation of Travellers. Possessing a substantial fortune he funds about 40% of the the conversion process' for all new Travellers.
His first Traveller hull was pre-hyperspace technology, at around 225 meters long it was the largest vessel the Stellarian Triad Federation had sent into space at that time. Later he refitted it with numerous upgrades including a one of the first Astrian built hyperdrives and energy shields.
Shadow spends most of his time exploring the reaches of space and while the Travellers don't have any hierarchy his words weigh heavily with the other Travellers. He also shipped the very first Astrians to Unity when the STF joined the Union and acts as a liaison between the Travellers and the Triad Boards. Unofficially he holds the rank of Lord-Fleet Admiral of the Navy. This is so he won't be hassled in case he shoots down a band of pirates.
His current hull can only be described as massive. At just over 20 km long it dwarfs anything else built by the STF. It has a flight mode and a walker mode for moving on planets' surface. With heavy shielding and three meters of armored hull plating Shadow can take an enormous beating that puts some military vessels to shame. That in combination with a scaled up version of capital ship class weaponry make Shadow of War a force to be reckoned with.
