When the Limëan Republic and the Teprogrenaian Consensus joined Union, the discussion rose if Union had to allow non-living beeiings, and when a beeing could have been called 'alive'. To settle this issue, the Teprogrenaian Consensus started the Great intergalactic discussion of life to determine the rules when a group of people are alive.

The discussion was held on Dhiahamara, and was led by Danar Sylvia. The participants were:

After the discussion, the final definition of 'life' was presented to the senate, and voted into law. At the final vote, the law proposal was accepted with 14 in favour, 3 against, and 2 abstained. The Definition of Life Act went into effect immediately, in 87.
