Type IV Atmosphere
Type IV atmospheres are toxic, acidic, or flammable, or are so far outside the temperature or pressure norms that they cause immediate incapacitation or death in most species of the galaxy. Few species can breathe in this type of atmosphere and worlds with a Type IV atmosphere rarely support life. To survive, a full body environmental suit is necessary.
Terrestrial planets and moons in any orbit can have a Type IV Atmosphere. For worlds in Hot and Cold orbits, it is the best attainable atmosphere level.
Advantages
- A world with a Type IV atmosphere gains a bonus of +10 to all production.
- A world with a Type IV atmosphere in goldilocks orbit is Habitable.

The cost of a Type IV Atmosphere depends on the size of the world:
