((OOC: This conversation is private to Minister of Defence Ardios Eldrilith and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Latharion))
Ardios Eldrilith walks to the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and enters the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Latharion after announcing himself to her secretary. After entering the office Ardios closes the door behind him.
"Minister, what is the progress of the talks with the Mandalorians? Union members are growing impatient and due to Article 2 of the Alliance Declaration we must have at least tried to peacefully resolve the impeding conflict. As Minister of Foreign Affairs you are in charge of communicating with factions outside the Union. If peace is not an option for the Mandalorians try to find out what their intentions are or what they demand from us. We need to know what we are up against."

"Minister, I haven't had contact with the Mandalorians." Maria Latharion held up her hand, stopping the Minister of Defence before he could speak.
"Please, allow me to explain my actions.
According to Article 2 of the Alliance Declaration, members should try to resolve matters peacefully. Seeing the scale of the Mandalorian fleet near the border, this seems more like a threat to the Union itself. That makes it your jurisdiction.
To my knowledge no member has done anything to deliberately provoke war and there for Article 2 has not been violated in my opinion."
She paused a moment and looked the minister of defence straight in the eyes.
"However, you do have a point. It seems we are both guilty of inactivity on this matter.
I propose we contact them together so we can at least find out their intentions."

"I see that Article 2 has multiple interpretations. Still it is the job of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deal with other nations. I agree that I should have contacted you sooner about this.
I will assist you in contacting them where it is required due to urgency of the matter. We should probably start with either contacting the commander of their armada or contacting their government in general. Can you open communications? "

"I will try to contact them and try to reach a peaceful solution, but I advise you to continue preparing our defences.
Now, if that is all I would like to get back to work.
Good day, minister."

"I will be in my office if you need me."
