[Senator Ardios Eldrilith]

Ardios Eldrilith invites Lady Peinaili de Montrève and Padawan Fecta Trigiel to a meeting in a conference room in the Ministry of Finance. This will be the first official meeting of the Committee that is assigned for investigation into Daryan involvement in Novelia System.

Ardios Eldrilith is waiting in the conference room and is looking at several documents.

After receiving the chancellors invitation Peinailli gathered a few things before making her way to the conference room. As of now she had been busy with arrangements for the Praetorian and Daryan military trainers, as well as early preparations for the arrival of refugees from the Azaryan colonies, in the Embassy as well as back on Glasslyn.

This committee would be her first official task on behalf of the Union and she was exited about it. The situation proved to be interesting and getting the intelligence might prove to be challenge as war still threatened the Novelia System. As she arrived she found the Chancellor already present, studying some papers.

" Chancellor, " she said after, " thank you for the invitation. I hadn't expected to receiving it so soon, but this is welcome development. "

"Avé, sorry for being late, guard duty was holding me up."

"Welcome," Peinaili said as she saw the cyborg entering the room just as she was about to sit down, "I'm Senator de Montrève, representating the Sundarian Federation. With whom do I have the pleasure?"

"I am padawan Fecta Trigiel, but you may call me Trigiel. The jedi counsel has appointed me as the requested jedi for this committee.

And with whom have I the pleasure joining this committee? I believe you must Senator... Chancellor Ardios Eldrilith," Trigiel said to the Praetorian.

[Senator Ardios Eldrilith]

"Welcome Trigiel. Thank you for joining us. We should start directly. Let's start with some important questions. What can we do from here? What angles of approach do we have? What assets do we need to deploy to investigate for us?


I believe we should start with requesting the official information about the deal between the Daryans and STF. Furthermore we might need to visit the fleet zone in the Novalia system and check what happened to the former leaders of the STF. What do you think?"

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

" I agree that we should requested all information from both the Astrian Colonial Authority and the Unified Republic of Darya concerning the delivery of Capitals ships. I would also recommend looking into any news reported by the UCN concerning the changes power in the Novalia in order to gain as much information on the subject as possible. Any further steps can then be based upon this intelligence."

Peinaili said in reply to the Chancellor opening statements, before asking Trigiel

"However it might be wise to first determine the extend of our inquiry and how to approach it. Padawan Trigiel, do you have any questions related to this inquiry and its limitation as set forth in the Union Laws or would you like to see some things clarified? Given the fact that you are a Jedi, you are probably not as well versed in the Union Law as the chancellor or myself and I would like to make sure that we are all on the same page first, before we proceed with the actual inquiry. "

"Instead of following the biased News, we can just go to the triad boards themselves and asked what happened. We can use the news as a starting point, but nothing beats a good personal investigation. I would also suggest to follow the money. These kinds of power changes often go hand in hand with money. It wouldn't be the first time that by finding the money, you find the bad guys and what happened.

By asking all communications and information, you ask a lot of the privacy of the involved parties, people often tend to be very fond of their privacy, so this might be problematic. Maybe its wise to determine how to approach the sensitive information, and what guidelines we use about what we do and what we do not report. When it is clear beforehand how we handle private information, I think that the involved parties are much more inclined to help."

[Senator Ardios Eldrilith]

"Lady Peinaili de Montrève would you be willing to take the role of chairwoman for this committee? Unfortunately I do not have the time to lead this committee due to my other duties. I will try to make time in the near future but I strongly suggest we task some Jedi or other operatives to start gathering information."

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"I would take on most of the duties if that would be better for you Chancellor, I would have no objections. And I also believe that Trigiel is on the right track here. We seek to acquire as much intelligence as possible.

Though Trigiel I would have to disagree with opinion on the privacy of the states concerning us requesting all documentation. Both faction have already declared that they would cooperate with this committee, in fact they are bound by Union Law. Extensive information is already kept within the Union records, so requesting their supporting documents is merely a formality and I expend no problems there, nor do I expect any irregularities with the payments.

I merely suggested the news, because most intelligence they receive are based on fact, biased they may be, but they can provide us with a starting point from which to investigate further.

Lastly, let me clarify that this committee has no say in the validity of change of power in the Novalia system, the Ministry of Justice has already declared the matter within the Union law, and any events are to considered a private matter. Regardless of what we find during this investigation, only the actual influence of the Unified Republic of Darya on or in this change of power, falls in question.

So we should decide quickly what we are going to do next, the longer we wait the harder it will be to get the information we need. Trigiel, as your probably more experienced with an actual investigation in the field, why don't you coordinate that part, while I will go through the documentation and the bureaucracy on the Union apparatus. I propose that we also invite both the Unified Republic of Darya and the Astrian Colonial Authority to a hearing, to enable them to tell us their view on the matter."

"I don't believe that requesting the documentation is merely a formality. The factions might have agreed to cooperate, but factions exists of people, and people might not like to cooperate if we ask their personal documentation, regardless of what their faction say.

I suggest we ask jedi Shebi Ajava to help us. She showed interest in this matter as well, maybe she is still interested, and the extra help should be useful. Especially when I go to the Unified Republic of Darya and the ACA. Also, Ajava comes from one of the great families of the Veolian Commonwealth, so she might have some experience with back room dealings."

[Fecta Trigiel]

"I also have no issues with Lady Peinailli de Montrève to be the official chairwoman.

By the way, when are we expected to deliver results?"

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"I am not sure, but we are expected to deliver results 'within reasonable' time. I shall invite representatives of both the Daryans and the ACA later today, so that we may begin our investigation."

"Are we going to invite a second jedi, as by suggestion of Chancellor Ardios Eldrilith? "

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"Yes, that might be wise. Do you have any suggestions or ideas about whom might be interested and suited for this task?"

Some of Trigiels headflaps extended slightly as a sign of annoyance: "As I already said, Jedi Knight Shebi Ajava showed interest in the matter.
