Danar Lorum - PC
"Ariana Danacia, Professor Komian, nice to meet you both." Lorum seemed genuinely pleased to meet them.
Do any of you know if the Astrian, Nathan was his name? Will calm down and come back, or did he came all the way here just to start a fight and then leave?"

((OOC: Could we continue?))
"I don't understand his motives. I believe we can continue without him. What about Iaat Shigemi will she join us for the tour?
Personally I am interested in what will happen with the crystal."
((OOC: Moving on with the tour I guess?))

"Well, I better check on miss... madam... what is it anyway? " Lorum pondered in the middle of his sentence before to continue abruptly, "Lady Iaat to see if she is willing to continue. I think I would be able to calm her down and convince her that only the Astrian cyborg jedi had poor manners. I will be right back."
Lorum left the room in search for Iaat Shigemi.
((OOC: I don't know if Shigemi wants to be found and how hard it is to find her.))

Danar Lorum found Iaat Shigemi in her office. Her mood seemed slightly improved already, and with some talking he convinced her that this was just an issue of poor manners. She even promised to join the group when the preliminary findings on the crystal would be announced, which was currently expected to happen in the evening.

((OOC: I think Brend and I can make up some nice stuff, since we are the main hosts of the research centre. If you have suggestions which you really like, just send us a pm so we can see how it fits in the research centre ;).))
Some moments later, Danar Lorum re-entered the room. "Well, lady Iaat Shigemi told me what happened, but now that Onim-en Stannum has left, we of the board are ready to give you the tour. I will be your guide. Lady Iaat will join us, the tour-group, later when we expect to get our first findings on the crystal."
((OOC: If there are no objections, we will begin the tour ^^.))

Trigiel raised a headflap, but then relaxed again. "Well, then let's go."
As they started the tour professor Komian told a bit about the excavation.
They location was discovery by a biologist who was looking for new species and he had found a rare toad and stone.
Under the swamp there was a big complex of many rooms and facilities and the hill in the swamp was just the tip of the construction. There is seems like there was a landing platform which was strangely equipped. There seemed to be hint of it being able to support two ships instead of one. Hopefully the artifact will solve the logistic puzzle.

The facility itself was actually much bigger than could be seen from the shuttle when they flew in. A lot of the research labs were underground, with some of the larger hangars having a forcefield instead of a roof, through which the starry skies and the protective dome could be seen.
Underground, the facility spreads out like a large wheel with six spokes, each spoke being a single wing of the facility. Among them were two wings of the facility with high-clearance areas that were not included in the tour. The other wings were each a self-contained research laboratory sharing certain facilities such as high-speed data links, power supplies and data servers.
The research being done here ranged from purely defensive work like civilian-grade shield emitters and miniaturization of long-range subspace communications arrays to advanced military equipment such as high-yield particle weapons based on magnetic acceleration and a new type of thruster based on expulsion of ionized liquids. Of course, with Danar Lorum walking with the group, the Jedi and the professor could easily ask questions on anything they saw.

Danar Lorum - PC
"This is the weapons development facility. Here we develop weapons. Plasma cannons, lasers, sonic charges you name and we develop it." They walked through a hallway with several laboratories at the sides. once in a while a car came by carrying some sorts of experiments, forcing them to step aside before to continue. Some laboratories had windows so allowing the visitors to look inside. At some of these laboratories Danar Lorum stopped to tell about the research they are doing, or some anecdote.
"I think this is very interesting for you to see, please come inside here." They entered some sort of sub-complex of rooms and doors. "This is were we make breakthroughs in state-of-the-art laser weaponry. This whole complex is designated to make sure we stay on edge on our enemies concerning our weapons.
In fact, the main canon of the Immanis Vastator is developed here and most of the finest parts such as the lenses are actually created in this very facility.
Here, this is what I wanted to show you."
They entered a room split into 3 parts by glass planes. They were at what looked like the observers area. The second area adjacent to their's was filled with computer and control pannels. Several Daryans where hovering around, Teprogrenaians and Veolians sitting and standing behind most of the panels. One Daryan was working with some controls and only greeted them briefly to quickly focus his mind on the control panel. The others didn't even seem to notice the visitors. At the other side of the wall was a very complicated looking machine working on some glass-looking sphere.

"This machine can make focus lenses as never seen before. With a perfection of less than 1 defect per billion atoms, these focus lenses are the finest you can find in the whole galaxy. At this moment, one single lens costs the same amount of credits, you need for a second hand space ship, but has the potential to focus the same amount of energy a XX-9 heavy turbolaser consumes into a single point of you-don't-wanna-be-thereness."

((OOC: Trigiel is not going to respond, as I am not going to respond at myself. We can continue the tour if you have nothing to say :).))
((OOC: Okay, then let's continue the tour.))
((OOC: Can we please continue and finish this thread, it has been on hold too long.))

((OOC: You could also continue here yourself? Your character is one of the guests, and just waiting for all the others to do something doesn't really generator roleplay. Or do you simply want to get the tour over with so we can get to the research discussion?))
((OOC: I wanted indeed the tour to continue. I have talked and no-one responded, so next part.))

((OOC: Sorry, I have been busy with avoiding responsibilities, so this thread had been on hold for me for the past time. I will continue, as there are quite some other awesome locations to show:).))

"Let's continue shall we?" Lorum said, after they had admired the process of making a glass sphere for a moment.
The walked out of the laboratories area, back to the main hallways. While they walked Torig continued explaining: "Since this planet suffers from continuous blizzards, we of the research centre have to monitor the situation closely. Most of the facilities are buried underneath thick layers of ice. This protects most of the buildings against the harsh environment outside, but we must be careful the walls won't be crushed by the pressure."
They took a turn and ended up in front of two large doors, which automatically opened. At the other side was a large holotable displaying planets, statistics and a lot of data with all kind of bar charts where the bars were constantly moving up and down. If the visitors had taken a good look when they approached the research centre, they could recognize the largest planet as the one on which the research centre is located.
"This is one of our monitor stations. Here we keep a close eye on the planet and its surroundings. A timely warning for blizzards and flash-freezes allows us to adjust the strength of our shields when needed. We also measure the sun activity, comet movements and other space anomalies. This room is one of many, all linked to the control station. So the actual controls are not done here, but somewhere else in the complex. However, it is not on the route so we won't visit the main control station."

((OOC: Do you have more cool stuff to show or can we continue))
((OOC: I don't intend to respond unless their are meaningful choices or their is a real issue to discuss. However my character is only a guest in this facility, therefore I don't believe I have anything to add.))
((OOC: Please continue tour. Let's move on to the meeting room.))
((OOC: Ok. It's time to get to the real topic; I'm putting this thread in overdrive! I'm also taking over the more ST-like things for Elmer here, so he can play Trigiel again in this thread.))
The tour took them past several other laboratories. The thing with highly advanced technology is that most of the research is really boring to look at. And while professor Komian can appreciate the beauty of a well crafted energy-balancing equation, it is mostly a theoretical exercise. So, the rest of the afternoon was filled with enthusiastic researches giving short talks about most non-classified topics they can cover -- and half of them featured complex equations and models presented through two-dimensional holoslides.
The tour group enjoyed a small dinner in one of the better cantina's in the city, and was then guided back to the lab complexes to hear the preliminary results of the analysis of the Masuk' faik-khush artifact.
