[Djana Military Research Centre] Ancient technology research collaboration <private>
((OOC: This is a private thread at the Djana Military Research Centre with the delegation of Professor Komian with the Masuk' faik-khush artifact.))
Two Veolians vessel approach the Djana Military Research centre. The Misty voyage has the Masuk' faik-khush artifact and professor Komian on board and Parable Defense is there to escort them.
((OOC: Please correct me when the information is not correct. From the thread not everything it is not clear if anybody is joining the delivery, so let me know?.))

"This is Niras Flight Control. Misty Voyage, Parable Defence you have been cleared for landing on platform 2C. Please use descend control protocol 2."

A short while later, both ships had safely landed on the platform. Two smaller vessels hovered towards the vessels to allow passengers to disembark and be carried inside the force field of the city built around the research centre. Cargo was already being unloaded, and a number of soldiers clearly wearing insignia of House Iaat were guarding the whole operation.
Once everyone was aboard, the smaller vessel detached from the Misty Voyage and started towards the city. Directly following was an unshielded cargo platform carrying the crystal and eight soldiers in envirosuits, and behind that the second disembarkation vessel. After a trip of roughly ten minutes, the small convoy entered the hangar of the central building.
Inside, the two vessels set down allowing the passengers to walk into the hangar. Waiting on the hangar floor were two veolian women, both wearing a military uniform.
"Professor Komian", the leftmost woman started, "I am sergeant Rastēka Cihna. If you would follow me please, the Board of Directors will assemble shortly. Of course, if any of the jedi want to join you, they would be most welcome."

"Good to know, sergeant." Nathan said as he stepped of the transport. His lightsaber dangled from his belt in plain view.
Normally Nathan wouldn't have bothered to come here, as it wasn't part of his job. However he wanted to know exactly what the Union soldiers had died for and if that damned crystal was worth it.

"Avé sergeant, I would love the opportunity to see a little more of this famous facility."
Ariana waited for the others to go first but eventually joined them as well. She just watched without saying anything.
Professor Komian and his assistants check whether the Masuk' faik-khush artifact is in order after unloading. It seems to have withstand the trip.
"Sergeant Rastēka Cihna, I would very much like to talk to the Board of Directors after have refreshed myself.
And like Jedi Fecta Trigiel I share interests in seeing this outstanding facility."
With that he left the artifact in the care of his assistants and follows the sergeant.

The sergeant guided the small group through the complex, past several security checkpoints, to their quarters.
An hour later after they had a chance to refresh or take a nap, she guided the group deeper into the complex. Three security checkpoints later, they entered a conference room. One side of the conference room was a slanted glass pane, offering them a view of a large hangar. In the hangar a technical crew is busy hoisting the crystal out of its transportation harness. A second crew was already standing by with data connectors and an oversized data crystal reading device.
"I will inform the board that you have arrived, professor." The sergeant motioned for the group to take a seat.

After he had stowed his belongings, Nathan simply waited.
He found it a bit strange they had to wait for the Board of Directors. In the ACA it was the other way around.
He tried to remember what his father had taught him about dealing with directors and CEOs. But the expectation to meet a bunch of pompous egotists kept interrupting his line of thought, so he gave up.
The fact that Nathan and his father weren't on speaking terms probably didn't help either.
So Nathan ended up just leaning his back against the wall near the farthest corner away from the door. The place he could observe the entire room and the hanger from.

Only moments later, a human woman wearing a practical military outfit walked into the room. Those with a military background can, from the few decorations on her outfit, judge that she holds a high rank; though that fact is only derivable from the fact that the rank insignia is a complex shape instead of the normal simpler symbols, her outfit is simple and does not come with ostentatious displays of medals or other insignia.
"I'm field marshaal Iaat Shigemi, a member of the board of directors.", she said with little further formalities. "Professor Komian", she turned to the older Hiocan, "it is good to see that you have made it."
She looked at the Jedi, "Apologies for the wait. With the sudden death of Bolv'ar, things have been hectic around here. The new interim director is not as well acquainted with our facilities as the late mister Bolv'ar, and as such I have been running the more practical side of things.
I'm not sure when the other members of the board will show up. I know that Danar Lorum is on site as well, but last I heard he was still working working on our two new of the prototype supply vessels yesterday. I've sent sergeant Cihna to inform him of your arrival. And commander August Smolak has yet to arrive, he had to fly in from the Kisin military complex in the ShasKar system."
She sits down at the table, clearly not planning on going through further formalities.
"I propose to do the tour of the facilities when we know if Danar Lorum will be joining us today. In the meantime, Jedi, I would love to hear how you got that enormous chunk of crystal out of a hot zone", she said while looking casting a glance at each of the Jedi.

"Field Marshall Iaat Shigemi it is a honor of meeting you in person. Thanks to the support of the Preatorian, Sundarian, Teprogrenaian and Veolian troops and the assistance of the Jedi we have made it is safely to here."
He made a bow to the marshall and then to the Jedi. He than waited for the other to make a move as the Marshall wanted to hear the story from the Jedi.

"By paying a price in blood." Nathan said, not planing to hide his feelings on the subject.
"We lost some good people getting that thing here. If you want a report I suggest you send your own people in next time. Instead of sending others to do your dirty work."
Nathan shot a look at Trigiel and Ariana.
"We don't report to you."

Nathan shot a look at Trigiel and Ariana.
"We don't report to you."
"We were ambushed by a Mandalorian Corvette on the planet. It is clear why the Hiocan Society recently started to construct their own military fleet. However it is a shame that this is after the war...
Due to a lack of ground forces on the planet we lost most of the Hiocan guards that were clearly not trained for war. This was to be expected with the corvette landing an army next to us. After killing the Sith that was commanding the army they started routing and we won the battle on the ground."

After Ariana finished Iaat Shigemi stands up walks over to Nathan to look up into his face.
"I suggest you adjust your tone", her tone of voice was one of contained anger, "Because I did send in my own people, and several of my men paid that price. In fact, I have already read several of the reports. And they did not sound at all positive. I already know that things went sideways, and I also know that my fighter wing couldn't do squat about it because visibility was zero, and they weren't contacted because of enemy jamming."
"It is a fact of war that situations do not unfold as we want them to. And I get that you are angry because you lost men. But find someone else to insult with your insinuations of subterfuge, before I have you thrown of the base."
With Nathan being scolded by a woman at least a head shorter than the Jedi cyborg, the situation would've been amusing if not for the seriousness of the subject.

"I was under the impression that those where Veolian state troops. And that this is a private military company." Nathan didn't find any of this amusing.
"You may have the decency to care about your subordinates. But does your board of directors? After all aren't you going to get a lot of profit from researching that thing down there?"
Nathan took a deep breath and calmed down.
"I may not have known those people for long, but I've been a soldier long enough to tell the difference between good and bad soldiers. Those that died there were all good soldiers.
People with no affiliation to you died so that some stranger could make a profit. Somehow I doubt a corporate suit would see that as anything more then a minor inconvenience. Can you blame me for getting angry at that?
I thought you were one of those corporate suits, instead of a military commander, and for that I apologise."
He sighed.
"I just hope that damned crystal is worth the price we paid."

"Well, then your impressions are wrong. And if you would have paid attention, or looked at the statement by our senator when she informed the senate of the troops we would be sending you would have known that those were House Iaat troops. Troops directly under my command."
The field marshall did not at all calm down after Nathan's continued insults.
"And for the record, Danar Lorum, commander August Smolak and I are the board of directors. You won't find a single corporate suit around here. We are not in this for the profit. This is a joint military research facility working on technology to protect the Union, not a profit-greedy corporation you presumptuous cyborg!"
"I have had enough of this. If this is how you Jedi see us, you can take your leave. And next time when you come to someone's home to insult them, at least have the decency to read up on them first!"

"Nathan," Trigiel said. His upper two headflaps rose in astonishing, "the Djana Military Research Centre is a joint project of the Veolian Commonwealth, the Teprogrenaian Consensus and the Unified Republic of Darya, not a pirate organisation. The research done here is to keep our military edge over enemies like the Mandalorians. In fact, thanks to this project the Hiocan society managed to keep the Mandalorians at bay with their planetary defence grids. Otherwise the Hiocan Society would have suffered a lot more losses.
We flew into a war zone with minimal assets, what did you expect? All the Teprogrenaians who joined were well aware of the risk and the reason why they joined the mission, I actually assumed you had yourself informed as well, or did you just randomly joined a mission into a sector with multiple Mandalorian galactic war fleets?"
Trigiel turned to Shigemi. Relaxing his head again.
"Iaat Shigemi, given the circumstances, the mission went pretty well. We managed to secure the crystal and killed an uninvited Sith in the process with minimal losses. I'm not sure how everything went on the ground, but we of the space group managed to keep an Mandalorian assault at bay by using the capital ships as hammer and shield, while the fighter wings functioned as sword. Even though we were outnumbered we managed to keep the space corridor open by scaring the Mandalorians away."

Danar Lorum - PC
Danar Lorum entered the room, apparently oblivious to the discussion the jedi and his fellow board member where in the middle of. He was wearing a Teprogrenaian version of formal headgear displaying both the insignia of the Teprogrenaian Military Consult, as well as the Research Consult and the logo of the research centre and one other insignia. He had relative simple clothing with some pieces of metal holding everything together.
"Avé, it was a pleasure to hear you made it all alive and well out of that hellish place. Nice to meet you, nice to meet you all. I am Danar Lorum Board Member of the Djana Military Research Centre, but please, just call me Lorum."
When he saw Trigiel, a twinkle of pure joy sparkled in Lorums eyes:
"Trigiel!, It is such a pleasure to finally have our, the Consensus, famous Jedi finally here. It is such a shame I missed you at military school. I would gladly have stayed for two more years if I knew then what I know now. "

"Don't give me that shit, Trigiel." Nathan shot at the other jedi cyborg. The embers of his anger flaring back up.
"Everyone here dropped the ball and there is blood on all our hands. And don't you dare deny that, human!" He directed that last sentence to Shigemi.
"I'm not leaving until I find out exactly what those people died for. If you have a problem with that then your welcome to try and remove me."

"Dropped the ball?! Blood on our hands?!", the smaller human woman bit back. "The only ones that dropped the ball are you high-and-mighty Jedi. You got my men killed and now you come here to add insult to injury?", her tone had changed to that of someone truly angry.
"I'm leaving. And if your sorry excuse for a Jedi is still here when I return, I will be forced to assume that you have hostile intentions towards this facility."
With that she stormed out of the room.

With that she stormed out of the room.
"Nathan calm down. We are not here to start another war.
I don't understand why you are suddenly so angry about this research. We all knew what we were getting into.
We retrieved an artifact out of a war zone, casualties were to be expected. Unfortunately a lot of good people die in a war, this is the price of war.
Maybe you should give the board of directors here a chance to explain the research that they plan to perform with the artifact."

"That doesn't make it acceptable!" While shouting that, Nathan brought down his fist on the conference table. Resulting in a large dent in the table.
"Not to mention the gall that bitch has demanding a report from us. I'm shocked you two actually gave her one." He said the last sentence to his fellow jedi.
"You know what, she wants me out of here. Fine. I don't even want to work with that bunch of elitist barbarians she's loyal to."
And with that Nathan marched out of the conference room and returned to Unity as quickly as he could.

Though unplanned, the facility's security and flight control knew better than to stand in the way of an angry Jedi. Nathan could easily get a shuttle and fly back to Unity if he wanted to.

Danar Lorum - PC
Lorem looked surprised at Nathan walking him by. "Okaaaayy.... I clearly missed something. We of the research Consult were under the impression that the only blood on our hands was Mandalorian blood, but that's a good thing right?
And what was that about not leaving till he knew about the research and then walking away?
By the way, dear praetorian jedi, I'm afraid I haven't caught your name yet." The last sentence Lorum directed at Ariana and spoke in a friendly tone. He walked towards her in order to allow her to shake his hand.

Ariana gently shaked his hand with her claw.
"Hello sir. My name is Ariana Danacia.
My apologies for the drama you just had to witness. It seems Astrian Cyborgs can be very emotional. It is very hard for me to understand what is going on in Nathan's head.
Unfortunately Nathan and miss Iaat Shigemi had a falling out based on multiple misunderstandings just before you arrived. I hope that you can convince Iaat Shigemi to return for business since Nathan has left.
Let us not dwindle on what happened but continue with the important business. I am interested in the research that you perform here."

Professor Komian has been calmly looking at the situation. All the people in the room seem to be interested in the research and the artifact, butt were not asking him to explain it. Apparently the casualties seem to be bothering more and got both the field Marshall and the cyborg Jedi up to steam. He could not find the logic in their thinking so he decided to let it be.
After Ariana Danacia the professor introduces himself.
"Dear Danar Lorum it is an honor meeting you. I am professor Komian, I have been investigating ancient ruins on Erau and found the Masuk' faik-khush artifact.
As Jedi Ariana Danacia says the others had a heated discussion. Some Hiocan meditation would do them both good, so they let logic rule them and not emotions."
