Lady Susri bowed to merchant Aosen, and then made sure to move a little, so she was roughly on the most likely route of the empress, should she move away from the dance floor.

Dana smiled.
"I'm well aware that what is claimed might not always be the truth. I don't really concern myself with it in this case. Why should I? It's not like I can do anything about it anyway."
Dana cocked her head quizzically at the Empress' question. Then realised the likely problem.
"It's exactly what it sounds like. It's bait for jails, not intentionally of course. You see there is a law in the ACA that states that minors aren't allowed to have sex with adults. It was originally created to protect children from exploitation by adults. But some teenagers can be seductive, leading to that law being broken. Should police get wind of it, it's straight of to jail. No judge is going to risk accidentally releasing someone who wants to exploit children. Not a perfect system, but at least it results in safety. Besides, the good ones can wait till graduation."

"When you first offered me a glass of champaign, your tone was that of someone with an agenda.", the empress pulled Dana a little closer, "Was that a ruse to get me to dance with you, or do you intend to act on that agenda?"

When the empress pulled her closer Dana smiled coyly.
"Perhaps the dance was my agenda." She whispered into the empress' ear, before her voice became more sultry. "Or perhaps I'm hoping to dance somewhere more... private." Slightly pressing herself against the Veolian woman, there was little doubt to the meaning of her words.

The empress looked at Dana for a moment, and seemed to enjoy the situation.
"If you feel comfortable with someone 30 times your age, I'd like that.", the empress replied with a mischievous smile.
The way the empress moved and subtly mirrored the movements of Dana during their dance would leave little doubt as to her intention even for those near them on the dance floor.
"But this can't be only a one-time fling", she whispered to Dana, "I have to maintain a certain image, after all."

During the wait merchant Aosen spots the Empress dancing closely with another women. He thought about it but as it are not his affairs he let it be. His wife finishes dancing and together they go back to the table to have a drink and share their experiences.

Then she pulled Dana close to her. "Shall we take a walk in the gardens? It is a lot less crowded outside...", she whispered to the Astrian as she gently steered the pair towards the edge of the dance floor.

As they leave the ballroom, Dana could see several veolian noble's take notice of the unfolding events. Some of them did not do a very good job at keeping their jealousy from showing. The empress, and there was no question that she noticed it as well, did not show any reaction.
As they left the building and stepped into the warm outside air, Dana saw the empress' four handmaidens slink out of the ballroom as well to accompany the pair at some distance, immediately blending in with the dark gardens to maintain the privacy of their charge.
