"Some Astrians have extensive cybernetics, up to and including that they lack any natural capability to reproduce. Most, if not all, of these people have genetic material stored away back in the ACA.

Would these people be required to have their stored material destroyed or would Veolian law already consider these people sterile? Technically these people are already sterile."

"I can understand if you cannot answer this question at this time. As such I will not make the Astrian Colonial Authority's agreement to the treaty dependent on the answer. I would still like to know one way or another. Though I suggest we leave this to the politicians, judges and lawyers."

The field marshal looked at the document for a moment, before replying.

"I am afraid that answering that is beyond my knowledge of the law. In my current understanding of the law, the storing of genetic material is not an issue. But material stored with the intent to use it later for procreation is something that is frowned upon in the commonwealth, and prohibited in some territories.

I will relay your concern about this to my house's political office, and we will make sure you have an answer to this question."

"Shall we move on to you stating your intent to join the research centre? We can then leave the details of the treaty to the politicians and get back to the work of seeing where the ACA can support our current projects, and what new projects become possible with a renewed point of view."

"Our intentions are simple: to improve the defensive capability of the Astrian Colonial Authority and its allies, by advancing technology and cooperation. Thereby ensuring order and safety are maintained so our civilisations can grow and prosper.

We will aim to provide qualitative development and improvement research for the Djana Military Research Centre with the goal of optimising new and existing military equipment. As well as reducing collateral damage and civilian casualties."

The Astrian general explained, then paused.

"Is that acceptable?" He asked to no one in particular.

The field marshal was slightly surprised by the eloquent statement.

"We only needed you to state your intent to join the Djana military research centre.", she smiled, "This clearly shows the Astrian Colonial Authority's intent to do so in abundance. This is most acceptable."

"I will have to necessary documents prepared, and our respective politicians can sign the treaty and toast to their achievements. I say we let them and get back to the actual work of advancing military technologies and techniques."

She gets up.

"I think this concludes our meeting for now.", she looks around to see if someone wants to add something.

((OOC: As far as I am concerned this is a nice point to wrap up this thread. If you all agree, I will update the treaty and open a quick thread on Unity for the ACA senator to sign to document (that way we have a nice OOC record of the updated treaty). If you are ready to wrap this thread up, please do tell us through a short OOC post so we do not wait for someone that is ready to wrap up.

If people are interested I think another thread where actual research ideas are brainstormed would be nice -- though an OOC thread to think up one or two technologies that fit in with the larger technological schemes of the ACA and Teprogrenaians might be more useful to you both ^_^))
