The Chancellor's date, lord Asisht Kisān, visibly turns his head to watch the young woman pass by. After a quick glance in the same direction she quickly followed it up with a sharp "Why are you looking at her like that?", towards her date. Lord Asisht appears to ignore Nehket Aeka for a moment before recovering.

But she did not allow him any time to reply, "If you think that of her, why don't you go after her?", came her sharp continuation. Lord Asisht opened his mouth to defend himself, but before he could get in another word, the veolian senator interrupted him by speaking to the other representatives. "I most sincerely hope you did not receive any empathic feelings from my date. It seems he is not as much in control of his feelings as he claims to be. Please accept my apologies for any grief he may have caused you, honoured representatives. I assure you, lord Asisht was just leaving to ensure that you do not experience any discomfort."

Nehket Aeka slightly turned towards her date, and softly said: "Weren't you, dear?"

"Ehm, yes of course. My humble apologies, most honoured dignitaries. I shall leave at once." he stated in a low voice, and quickly left the scene.

As a woman, Mirabi had a decent idea what Nehket Aeka did and decided to play along. She said laud enough so lord Asisht Kisān could just hear her saying while he left: "The indecency of some men is just ludicrous, looking at other women desirably while neglecting their own date."

Zatiri took a step closer to Dareal Noxim and whispered to him. "I don't get these humanoids and their strange gender roles..." People close-by with good ears could hear what she said.
"It is hot in here, I am getting something to drink, I will get you some water too Dareal."

After a minute she returned with two large glasses of water, gave one of them to Dareal Noxim, and quickly drank a large part of her glass.

"It seems many factions are increasing their military fleets these days, even the Praetorian Empire is creating large amounts of capital ships. Is there a war coming? You senators probably know more about this than I do..."

"I am not sure, miss Ferumdra. The Hutt are already in open warfare with the Slave Rebellion, and some of that conflict could easily spill over into our territories.", it seemed she had more to say, but refrained from speaking. Instead, she took a sip of her drink.

"The Veolian Commonwealth is increasing its military to comply with the Alliance Declaration, and to have the option of deploying troops to aid allies."

"The largely increased labour of capital ships has little to do with conflicts of other super powers in the galaxy as far I know, though we do live between the Hutt, the Mandalorian Fleets and the Core Hegemony, and who knows what is beyond sector 18.

As far I know, the three factions who are currently working on fleets are doing it out of precaution. But you two know that better than me, as you are two of them.

Still I believe that the Mandalorian Fleets are busy to increase their power to make a move against the Echani. If, and I stretch the if, the Echani are conquered by the Mandalorians, it is likely that the Mandalorians will try a continued push towards the Union."

"Senators, representatives, it was a pleasure to talk with you. I have matters of state that require my attention."

Chancellor Nehket Aeka left the group, her twi'lek slave quickly joining her as she walks out of the club.
