Please post actions and money spent this turn here. They are processed as soon as possible. Though not required, we appreciate it if you can list all your actions in one post.

Note: if you buy a new zone, please do not add it on the Wiki until your turn has been finalised. Step by step:

1. Post your actions here
2. DM will approve the actions
3. You edit the Wiki to update any status changes

If you make a mistake, and your action has not yet been processed, please edit in your original post and make a note of the edit. If your action was already processed, contact a DM.

Please use the following template for your turn. You can enter your personal values where a __ is open. If you then post it, it should display properly.

Code: Select all

Trade Fleet __ cap increase (+100 (:tradecap) to __ (:tradecap): + __ (:mtcf)) -> __COMPLETE (__ / __)

TOTAL DEV. EXPENSES:    __ (:tax)

At this time, I check routes / capacity manually, so if your route changed (either in sectors or in the assigned fleets) or if you added a new route, please make a manual note of this. Otherwise it is not necessary to list trade routes / production / etc.

If the tax tool outputs wrong numbers for you, please note this, so we can look into it. Hopefully this new way will be more universal and will be less work for everyone!

Praetorian Empire & Veolian Commonwealth:
Your turn reports are okay, but there is some convolution around the research.

According to your turn reports, the Praetorian Empire is spending 100 on Adaptive Construction Machinery and doesn't do any other research. The Veolian Commonwealth is spending 138 on Atmospheric Purification and 200 on Biogenesis.

Looking closer at the tax tool, there appears to be a transfer of 100 (:tax) from the Praetorian Empire to the Veolian Commonwealth for the Biogenesis research.

If I get a response that this is correct, I will approve your turn.

To avoid confusion in future turn reports: instead of fund transfers, would it be possible for you both to list spending 100 (:tax) on the research, adding a note at that line about whom you are cooperating with. Since you both spend, you can add the total spent together as the values, of course.

For example, say you started fresh with researching the EXAMPLE technology, each spending 100 (:tax), both of you would list:

Research on EXAMPLE +100 (:tax) -> INCOMPLETE ( 200 / 1000 (:tax), (:turns) 1 / 4 ) -- Collective Research of Veolian Commonwealth, Praetorian Empire

Say next turn the Silver Forests of Remunzia join in, you'd list, presuming everyone spent 100 (:tax) again, you'd list:

Research on EXAMPLE +100 (:tax) -> INCOMPLETE ( 500 / 1000 (:tax), (:turns) 1 / 4 ) -- Collective Research of Veolian Commonwealth, Praetorian Empire, Silver Forests of Remunzia

This makes it easier to check if the conditions for tax cuts are being met each turn and avoid me having to check money transfers.

This is correct. Praetorian Empire + Veolian Commonwealth are doing biogenesis together for about 8 turns now.
Currently i am starting Adaptive Construction Machinery alone (to get the first (:turn) ) The plan is to continue this together and claim tax deduction here.

A) This is correct; I added a small note to clarify the situation already, but it seems Praetorians neglected to do this.

B) I find the proposed notation a little convoluted to be honest -- it breaks the expected pattern of "Project +new (:tax) -> (old + new / total)" as the totals clearly do not match up (example goes from 200/1000 to 500/1000 with a +100). And secondly, the actual investment is spread over multiple reports: you would need to go hunting for all contributions before you can validate the report.

Would it work if a single person actually did the bookkeeping, and noted the supportive funds of other factions? That way you can check it easily (a single source contains the 'authoritative' data), the sums match up nicely (no fund-hunting) and the tax collector can still be used for transferring the funds, freeing some time up that would've been used for bookkeeping.

As an aside: The rules are a bit unclear on the whole 'who does the actual research' anyway. As I see it the research is being done by a single faction (because they have the facilities, lead commitment, whatever), and the rest is just funding the research... but this might just be rule-as-written nitpicking.

I'll have a further look later at how to handle combined research as I think deep down it is a little more complex due to the difference with regular stuff. Will post in the Turn 35 page later this week, before the weekend.
