Regarding Obsoleting the white hole market and price changes
...meh. I was expecting the "There will be an announcement beforehand indicating that it is imminent, followed by the actual announcement that it is so." to mean there would be a warning more than 0 weeks in advance. I can't upgrade my fleets now without breaking trade agreements. I was kind of in the middle of remedying this situation. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
Are there sellers on the market other than Chriz(who has no spare supply) and Skuldda(who is currently in trouble), or is the Open Market the only option available?

brend wrote:In my opinion there was fair warning: The news about the accident hit the forum on the 25th (in the turn of 22-28), the prices adjusted accordingly in the next turn (29-4) -- this is certainly not a 0 turn advance warning. It is of course unfortunate that you have trade deals depending on this, but by definition you can not have advance warning of accidents.
((OOC/IC: Is this forum IC or OOC? Currently, I reply OOC like TLB but this might not be appropriate here -- please clarify?))

I don't mind the price increase as much as the removal of the cash payment thing. I'd be happy to pay 664
for a trade fleet. Well... not happy, but able.
Also, I'm mostly just venting general dissatisfaction with the way things are turning out. My decisions seems to have effects opposite to the intended outcome, etc.
Also also, producing MTCF is now roughly twice as profitable as producing tax set 7, so I'm wondering if I should make the switch to MTCF production as well.

To clarify: When I replied (before admin shuffled everyhing around) your post did not have the "Regarding Obsoleting the white hole market and price changes" line. Since I could not determine that your post was regarding the obsoletion of the white-hole market as well I replied as such.
I agree with you that the obsoletion of the white-hole market, a rather OOC thingy, could have been announced beforehand. THe only indication was an IC newsflash.
Pseudo-EDIT: Will you stop editting your posts while I'm writing a reply
Confused now -- you still have to pay in
to the open market right? So just pay the 664
, or get in touch with a producer and buy them directly from the source.
EDIT: Another edit by TLB: Go for it!

The post about the industrial accident was actually intended as the mentioned warning. It mentions that the accident:
This was meant to mean both the white hole market ('unions ability to deliver') and the market price.
The event was also scheduled for Turn 12 or 13, meaning its actually right on time.
That all being said, I can see that my communication was not as clear as it should have been. My apologies for that.
As for producing
now bringing in more profits... that's only the case if you can find players who will buy them. Not long ago, Chriz had a hard time selling them for 490 even though the white market price was 500, so I'm not too sure. I will keep an eye on how the market develops.
EDIT: corrected mistake
will have a significant impact on ... the Unions ability to deliver Mass Transit Cargo Freighters, and will likely cause the prices of these goods to rise soon.

Sorry for continuously editing. It's still less ugly than making three separate posts.
That said, are there other NPCs selling MTCF directly, or is the Open Market currently the only option?
