Corporate zone update notification

A friendly note from your neighbourhood bookkeeper:
In this case, the Cassandra Holding Bookkeeping was out of date due to a second Cassandra Holdings Zone on ECCE (zone 011010) being specialised in
172, where the +1
on corporate income actually makes a difference due to rounding rules. While I don't feel particularly penalized due to missing out 2
of dividends due to this, it can become a problem in the future, when more money is to be had from such upgrades.
While this specific situation popped up because of me eyeballing the income of the Cassandra corporation because I was mucking about with improving the corporate bookkeeping in general, it holds for any person doing specialisations for a corporation that isn't theirs: be nice, and inform the player doing the bookkeeping.
Thanks!
Dear builders of corporate zones,
When you complete a specialisation, it is very helpful to actually let the people that bookkeep said corporation know of this. That way, the corporate income can be updated, and everyone that should receive more
can look forward to more
.
Cheers,
your friendly neighbourhood bookkeeper

Mercury - Storyteller
Apologies for this, I did report the first one but not the second one I made T_T. I'll gladly repay anyone who's lost money on this.
Full disclosure: This turn I am moving the Cassandra Holdings Headquarters to my homeworld and I also started on a third Cassandra Holdings zone which will be finished next turn.
Also a question related to this. The turn tool reports this:

Do I correctly interpret this as me getting 1
- which is the correct amount - or is it a weird bug and is the value for the amount (1) actually omitted?

Meh, it's only 2
, and I am the only one affected. Let's say that they are already included in the repayment of the recently issued loan.Mercury wrote:Full disclosure: This turn I am moving the Cassandra Holdings Headquarters to my homeworld and I also started on a third Cassandra Holdings zone which will be finished next turn.
We know. Or at least, I hope so that people do, because we all voted for it explicitly. Did you coordinate with Gerben about who is going to do the updating of the numbers? Because he said that he would note the corporate HQ move and update the numbers ^_^
(Pure nitpickery: I hereby give permission to the IO and the Sundarians to move the HQ of Cassandra Holdings in this turn. Which I need to do because only the controller of the corporation can move the HQ -- though in this case things have become sufficiently convulated that nobody is going to find out :P)

That is not a bug, it is the correct display; and your interpretation is correct. It looks a bit wonkey because it is with tax. For example a line of "100x
+
->
" doesn't look so weird. I can look into it if it breaks the flow of reading though.Notice to all people spamming VAC
corporations. Please keep in mind that if you finish a zone, you might want to check VAC (Bookkeeping) and see if this needs updating. You all seem not to care about this, forcing me to do this time and time again; there will come a point where I will stop caring as well, and you'll simply start missing your income.

Will do.
Okay thats it! Today I once again had to update the VAC bookkeeping because someone else was lazy. I hereby inform everyone that this turn is the last turn I will update the VAC and Cassandra corporations for you.
Starting next turn I will interpret any missed income, whether due to you people being too lazy or forgetful or because you simply do not know that you have to update, as an IC event. This will come down to one of the following things:
I hope that it does not have to come to IC conflict, but I have had it with you people making turn reports early and expecting me to clean up your mess. You have been notified of my annoyance, and now I will start taking advantage of your laziness.
Starting next turn I will interpret any missed income, whether due to you people being too lazy or forgetful or because you simply do not know that you have to update, as an IC event. This will come down to one of the following things:
- If our worlds have an explicit contract: the Veolians will see your lack of payments as a willful breach of contract and will file complaints with your world and the ministry of Justice. (Meaning: if you forget to update, the Veolians will sue your world)
- If your corporation or zone is part of a conglomerate or holding: the Veolians will see your lack of payments as a non-interest in the generated
and will use the full extent of their corporate authority to redistribute your share of the generated. (Meaning: If you forget to update, the Veolians will take your money)
