Hi all,

I would kindly like to ask everyone to not to post turn openings, or submit turn reports before the previous turn has been locked.

I know that it is perfectly possible to make a turn report in advance without affecting others. The problem isn't that turn reports are being made in advance. But by opening a new turn, or posting a future turn report, you give other players a signal that they can start posting turn reports.

And when they do so, they tend not to pay attention to the status of the previous turn, and simply start updating the wiki. This makes the turn auditing process very difficult. We as turn auditors can only check reports if the trades, tax transfers, etc., aren't changed until we have checked all reports. Tracking down changes people make to the wiki takes a lot of time, and it greatly increases the complexity of checking a simple correction to a report.

I have no problem with people making reports in advance. But if you do, please wait with actually posting them. You can make your turn reports in advance, and simply stash them either on the wiki, or PM them to yourself, or store them in a text file in dropbox. Know that if you post them, this gives other players the illusion that the previous turn is done. And than Fedor and me have to clean up the mess and sort out what is what, or risk approving all kinds of nonsense.

Please, let the turn auditors open the new turn report thread!

Thanks,
Brend

Sorry, the error that surfaced was my fault. Due to time constraints I already posted my turn report with a lot of black hole trades but I missed 1.

I know this can be very annoying, I have been turn auditing for a long time myself.

It won't happen again.

Note: It seems the turn auditing is delayed more days lately, this does not help for the remaining time that people have to update their stuff and create their new turn report. Is their something we can do about this?

I have been going through a bit of a crowded time. I'm hoping to get back to turn auditing at mondays after I'm back from my conference.

I'm afraid that most of the small optimizations to make things more easily checkable have already been done over the years, so it's mostly a matter of the auditors taking the time to check things on time; I know that I'll be aiming for doing part of the work on monday-morning, and the rest on monday-evening if need be.

If there is anything we as players can do to make things easier on the turn auditors, I'd like to know. I've been including a direct link to my previous turn report, for example, which should help make things easier. Are there more things like that which would help?

Yes, players can double check their own report to look for errors themselves. If they don't know how write something down they can check with older reports and they can keep their reports simple ;)

If you only have 1 project, then the turn is a lot easier to check :P
