A special law was passed requiring a payment by all Union members. In turn 235, the following construction should be completed:

Extra taxation for Cooperation Promotion: +0 (:tax) -> INCOMPLETE (0 / 500)

Even if you finish before then, please make sure to add this note in turn 235, so that once that turn has been approved, I can make sure everyone paid their extra taxes.

I just realized something. So, a request for clarification:

Is this a "normal" tax transfer in that it does not count towards Friction?

if so, we would we be better off if I update the tax tool to include an economic directive (or a negative subsidy or something) to effect this tax payment. That way it does show up on the turn reports, but people don't have to go adjusting friction by hand.

I think this ought to qualify as such, yes, however that's not to be interpreted as a way to get money tax-free by making a tax for all union members and then paying that tax right back to them (obviously). For this case however, I would say yes.

Luckily, subsidies are processed after tax payments, but before friction, so the sketched situation is not possible (i.e., getting money to Union before Friction and then paying it out as a subsidy would not help in any way). Since Friction is a rules concept that is applied just before spendable money, there is no way of getting out of paying friction by with any IC money transfer chain that starts and ends with the same world... And the only other scenario I can think of given your statement tantamount to lowering taxes, which is a legit way to get "money tax-free" ^_^

Payment data block

In other news: I have updated the tax tool to recognize the following data block that people can put on their bookkeeping page to make sure their payments show up on their turn report (obviously, you have to tweak the Faction and Amount):

Code: Select all
<data subsidy #Cooperation Promotion Payments>
Faction [ref]: Veolian Commonwealth
Subsidy [ref]: Cooperation Promotion
Amount: -250
</data>

This code block only makes sure that your payments show up on your tax report, you will still have to track the cumulative payments by hand. To help with this, I have updated the tool to also output the project line directly above the TOTAL EXPENSES.

This update might require you to refresh your cache, if the turn tool says "Unknown subsidy law...".

Now that we have reached the pay-out moment in (:turn) 236:

How do you plan on paying out? Will you make the necessary trades on the Union Bookkeeping page?

That's exactly what I'm planning!

However, I hear there may be some delays, as the Socialist Republic of Niom is handling some of the details regarding the Veolian Commonwealth, so their pay-out may suffer some unforeseen delays.

That's the price one has to pay for proper bureaucratic procedure.
