Write-a-thon: The Rogue One [Sunday 9 April]
I am on a diet as I am pregnant.
I would also like tea, but with less cafeine, Jasmin tea preferable.
Furthermore, I would like some sugar in my tea.
Could there also be some fruit juices.
No red meat should be no problem with our usual dinner.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.
I would also prefer for there to be sufficient light, preferable from mostly natural sources.
Time to make an agenda.
Gameplay with less active players

Personally, I do not plan on putting anything onto the agenda; I plan on having a somewhat relaxed write-a-thon socializing with you all. I'll see what appears on the agenda.
As discussed some time ago:
Evaluation of the war
Evaluation of the fleet battle system

@Stuiter: Are you travelling by Car or by Train towards Hengelo?
Car, do you want a lift?
I have to fullfill a long standing promise to help some friends renovate during the day, so I'll arrive in Hengelo somewhere between 15:30 and 16:30.
I hope that's not a problem for anyone.
I heared there will be air and juice, so the only additional request I have is this: If mushrooms have to be used in dinner I would like to be able and allowed to pick them out (and shove them on a plate of someone who does appreciate them).
@Mercury: could you PM me your adress? My own PM seems to be stuck in the outbox

PM sent Pixie! Naturally you'll be most welcome to arrive at the time you indicated, though I'll have to insist you'll stay for dinner ^_^
Is the Enschede bicycle gang going together? I propose to meet up traditionally at campuslaan 27 and leave together around 10:30 from there :)
I'll be there ^_^
I will also be there!

Well, if you are going anyhow in that direction, I'd prefer if I could tag along

In all seriousness though, please remove Jaicens post from the OOC Forum. We like to keep things neat and orderly here.
I get it was an honest mistake, but please pay attention to these things in the future. Not just for neatness, but for my personal sanity.
Also I believe Brend is more serious then you think, of course I might be mistaken. We prefer letting the players who make this mistake remove their own post, but make no mistake admin powers can and, likely, will be invoked.

Yeah, was trying to figure out whether I could change the posts poster, but it seems Like I can't delete it anymore, only adjust the text.
(I've used my moderator powers to change the poster. It is a pity that the actual poster is not allowed to to so by the forum...)
Fwurg fleet battle
Things we talked about describing the current system.
Combat rounds every turn are hard to reach, people don't reach that posting frequency. The combat seems to become repetitive due to the lack of scenery and options.
What we want:
We want to focus combat around strategy. We rather have a large post every three weeks with multiple well written strategic actions, compared to the short tactical actions and stats we have now.
We rather have a combat consisting of three rounds with each of the multiple actions, instead of 10 rounds with a lot of administrative work.
Ideas
The new fleet battle system will we affected by the idea of the more detailed map. We should take this into account.
Drawing a small map for the battle with things like astroid belts and nebulas on it and letting a fleet be in a hex on that map will give us a better idea of the situations and the actions that are possible. Flanking will be much clearer.
New system instead of the 3 rings for offense and defence: Every fleet consists of a number of units, each unit can be anything you fluff, it can be a couple of destroyers, cruisers, some capital ships or for example a fighter squadron and a bomber squadron. Each unit is technically of equal strength.
Instead of upgrading with extra units (or additionally to extra units) you can upgrade your units with a bonus against a specific type(s). Which would preferably be something like a rock, paper, scissor, glass kind of system. We could use the Inner, middle, outer and close combat for that I guess?
Further more we want special situational upgrades to give people more strategic options and to make it possible to specialize your fleet.
We talked about things like helping minor worlds with a fleet which could give additional options like being able to trade products for a specific product. Another thing would be protecting a trade route or piracy patrol in a specific small sector.
For balancing reasons the impact of military fleets could be lowered, lowering their costs and making their affect smaller, for example impact on a smaller region.
Have I missed anything?
Does this belong in fwurg 2.0?

I think this belongs here. We want this in the current FWURG ^_^
I want to add that we also basically determined that we should fix the map sector sizes before taking a go at the fleet rules. That way we can determine additional strategic uses of fleets beyond simply using them as A Big Stick™.
Also: We have agreed to make the Lagrange Point Conduit Stations the default method of power transfer, with the actual technology and project becoming fluff; and the rules adjusted to match the simpler power transfer rules (i.e., all power in the system is pooled).

I believe this captures the discussed points around fleet battles.
I was thinking: If we are going for a rock-paper-scissors-glass construction, a downside is that I don't think that anybody would go for scissors, since this is clearly the weakest option with no benefit over glass. (Glass wins from paper and scissors right?) To make scissors this still an interesting option we could balance it using lower costs, or give every option unique useful choices.
This said, I think I like a rock-paper-scissors-glass based strategic system.
How is the hit-point system working? That is something we did not really talked about. What is your feedback? (To you, the player, not to Brend specific, the previous poster)

Maybe a standard 4 elemental circle is better.
Fire-> Air -> Ground-> Water->
With double damage when having the advantage and doing half damage when at disadvantage.
No advantage is normal damage.
