We have finished the Character Builder, which new players (and old alike) can use to construct characters, be they Senators, Leaders, Jedi or other.

The Character Builder comes integrated with the Jedi Builder and Saber Builder and is fully dynamic, loading races, combat styles, skills, etc. from the wiki. Once you filled it in, the top right button to create the wiki text makes you a popup with the full wiki text for your character, ready to be posted on the wiki.

At this time, the Character Builder works best in Firefox, while being almost fully functional in Chrome (the saber display doesn't function yet, but the saber builder itself is fully usable). However, as of this moment, Internet Explorer is not yet supported. We will work on finishing that up soon.

The Character Builder is featured in the Tools menu and can be found here:

If you find any bugs, inconsistencies or problems, please let us know!

EDIT: DIABOLIC POST MWUHAHAHA!!

I have a question about skills in the character builder. What is the correct way to add a skill to the builder say for example Tracking how should I do that?

Do I add the skill on the wiki and then its automagically in there or do I have to ask to get it in the builder?

And yes diabolic post on Friday the 13th even I always knew there was something wrong with you and now I have proof of that. :D

If you add it on the wiki, it is automagically included in the builder - no need to ask or check with anyone.

The same holds for new Force Powers, Races and Combat Styles / Manoeuvres.

The Character Builder has been revamped and now works in Internet Explorer (tested on 9). The Saber Builder display doesn't function in anything but Firefox at this time, but that will be fixed later and it is not necessary to use the full functionality of the tool :)

The Saber Builder display now functions in Internet Explorer 9 (tested, with hacks) and 10+ (untested, without hacks), Chrome (tested), Opera (untested), Safari (untested) and Firefox (tested). It also makes a best-effort attempt for non-CSS3 compliant browsers. Finally, I changed the help buttons (on the Race Builder too) to be bigger and more obvious so that new players will notice them more easily.

The Character and Race builder now automatically insert and load the selected image when using the Wiki upload tool, meaning you no longer have to type the name of the image, but you can do it by simply selecting the relevant image.

The character builder has been extended with a 'Create account' button, which creates an account on the forum. It also automatically sets your image to the one selected in the character builder and links your character account to your character's wiki page. The created account is set as a PC account and is linked to your main account so you can begin using it immediately -> it's already in your account drop down box.

Currently, you still have to hand copy the wiki text before creating your account (as indicated by the step numbers). In the future, the wiki text will be set on the wiki automatically, so you no longer have to copy or paste anything - one click will make the wiki page and the account at the same time, but that additional functionality will require some adjustments to the wiki which we haven't gotten to yet.

Regardless, this should make it easier to make IC accounts ^_^
