Amount of active missions

I've got a question for everyone: should we try and limit the number of active missions?

We currently have 4 active jedi missions. And while I really enjoy them, I think it might become problematic if we have too many active missions at once. Personally I'd rather divide my attention between two missions with a high posting frequency than five missions that go really slow.

The short reason for this is: forum play is slow. The long reason for this is: forum play is slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

The current two missions are going strong from 2011-11 to 2012-6 that's roughly 5 months. (Again, I really enjoy them). As and aside, the current training misison is going on to 3 months as well -- partly due to myself.

The issue is that jedi missions are supposed to have some political impact. But at this pace the politics are actually going faster than the jedi missions. Hell, we're nearing (:turn) 60, when the next chancellor election will be held.... This would mean that the jedi missions lasted longer than an election period O_o (i.e. you could start a missions under the first administration, and end it in another -- which might come with sudden drawbacks due to changed policies and stuff)

Now I know that we declared time-agnosticism on the mission (i.e. they are not 'real-time' so to speak; instead they go their own pace). But this is just a tad difficult for me to grasp. Especially since I've tried to bind a political issue (the diplomatic visit of one of the Veolian Empresses to the Slave Rebellion) to a jedi mission. I'd planned for this missions to be done by now, so I could politic up some things -- but I'm still waiting...

To speed things up I have, up till now, only a single idea: the groups should be smallish (2-3). Large groups just don't work as well.

Do others have an opinion on this? (Of course, both suggestions for speeding up, and opinions on the actual impact of jedi-political issues are welcome.)

I think having 2 or 3 active mission to play is a good amount.
Then you have some time to think and still be able to post 2 times a week.
So you could set a limit of the amount of missions that equal 3 times number of players dived by three (max people per mission), which comes down to 1 mission per active player.

Currently, I see that the post frequency is very low, maybe 1 post per week.
I would like to speed things up on mission.
With more players you have more interaction and you wait for each other.
We really need to get thing done on the mission if you want some political influence.
Maybe some players want to have a posting evening (like dungeon) to speed things up.

I also prefer more frequent posting over more different missions. 2 posts a week seems quite fitting in my opinion.
2 Jedi missions will be enough for me for now, maybe I can handle a 3th one, but for now are 2 missions good enough.
In the missions I sense two factors which are slowing the missions down.

people have to wait at each others posts. This is especially a problem with missions with a lot of players.
every action has to be posted, so practically every step a character takes most be approved after which the game master post a new set of potential troubles for the player. The players then needs to discuss the new situation and take a new set of actions in response to the new situation.

The reason the politics are way faster is they don't take actions. And they do not have to wait for each other.

If we want to have the Jedi's actions to have really a political influence, than maybe troubles during missions should be minimal. But this will make the missions less interesting.
