Dear Maria,

As we have a few months ago I have put out some feelers in the Veolian Commonwealth to find nobles willing to support our cultural exchange. I have found several people willing to take on an Astrian volunteer slave given the conditions of medical examination and the freedoms with regards to communication we agreed upon.

I have also found a noble house willing to sponsor a cadet branch to relocate to the Astrian Colonial Authority, and to undergo the necessary cybernetic implant procedures. The second son of House Sakha is willing to move his household to the territories of the ACA, and every single member of his household has consented to undergo the necessary procedures.

I propose that we invite UCN to broadcast the witnessing of the slaving ceremony on Unity. This event is a good opportunity for statements to the media, as most factions will be observering with great interest.

Dear Aeka,

I am glad to hear this. I too, have found several volunteers as we agreed upon.

Inviting the UCN to broadcast the ceremony, however, is something I would advise against. The Astrians volunteering for the exchange would, most likely, rather remain anonymous from the general public. As, generally speaking, slavery is frowned upon by Astrians. A regular press conference should be able to suffice, in my opinion.

I ask for this simple courtesy for the Astrian volunteers. Unlike the Veolian volunteers they can not simply return home if they wish to.

Since we made no agreements in this regard, a joint press conference would have the ACA's preference.

Dear Maria,

It is good to hear that we are still of one mind on this subject.

I understand the desire for the Astrian volunteers te remain anonymous for now. It is my hope that they will change their mind over time, as your culture becomes more accepting, but I understand that this will take time. The same goes for the veolian volunteers, if it becomes public knowledge that their house accepts them getting cybernetic implants, this will have severe repercussions for the whole house.

For now, a joint press conference will suffice. I propose that we only disclose the number of volunteers from both sides to the press. This will preserve symmetry of information, and place neither the astrian nor the veolian volunteers in a problematic situation.

I assume that you have no problem with performing the slaving ceremony in the Veolian embassy? That would be the easist solution with regards to applicable legislation. Of course, we have no problems with having the necessary surgery of the veolian volunteers performed on Astrian soil.

I will have my people draft a press release, you can expect it within the month.

Veolian volunteers undergo Astrian cybernetics implantation, Astrians volunteer to become Veolian slaves!

Unity - Earlier today, an unspecified number of Astrian volunteers went to the Veolian embassy on Unity, escorted by none else than the Lord-Master of the Astrian Colonial Authority. With the Lord-Master witnessing the ceremony, the volunteers accepted the offer to become slaves in the Veolian Commonwealth.

Immediately thereafter, a cadet branch of a noble veolian family left for the Astrian embassy. After they arrived, every single member of the household was implanted with advanced Astrian implants to allow them to function normally within the Astrian community.

The volunteers are now on their way to their now homes. A treaty between the two worlds guarantees medical inspection and certain rights to both groups of volunteers. Both groups of volunteers are part of the Astrian-Veolian cultural exchange program, and will contribute to a deeper understanding of each other's culture. Hopefully, the acceptance of both the Astrian and the Veolian cultures will increase through this exchange, allowing peoples from both world to mingle and coexist.
