To all Union members,

The Veolian Commonwealth, together with the Miomanian Colonists and the High Chiefdom of Skuldda, anounce the upcoming G-22 Galactic Economy Summit.Speakers from all Union worlds are invited to send in abstracts for their short talks!

See the programme for details on submission and attendance.

G-22 Galactic Economy summit programme
The G-22 summit is intended to be a political event where representatives of the highest level are accomodated in their busy schedules. The summit will last for nine days, and special consideration will be given to the security needs of representatives.

The summit will be held on Mirda, starting the 5th of April, and ending the 13th of April.

Programme

2014-4-5: Opening and introductory talk "Comparative Advantage"

2014-4-6 - 2014-4-11: Talks and discussion panels. This segment of the programme is divided into three tracks. Each track will host several short talks, followed by a discussion panel. Three tracks are available:
  • Macroeconomics: Intergalactic scale production and specialisation
  • Financing: Investments, loans and financial instruments
  • Interstellar Logistics: Transportation, both scaling and efficient
2014-4-12: Left open for meetings between representatives
2014-4-13: Closing ball

Important Dates

2014-3-22: Deadline for submission of abstracts
2014-3-23: Speaker notification of selected talks
2014-4-5: Deadline for submission of talks

Speakers are invited to send in an abstract of their short talk (including title, speaker name, affiliation and preferred track). Multiple speakers per world are encouraged.

((OOC: We intend this summit's talks to be short and concise, and about an actual economic mechanic or effect in FWURG. Talks should not exceed 750 words.

Furthermore, we hope to streamline the summit by having people send in a one-line abstract of the short talk they wish to post, AND have them PM the short talk itself to the organizer before the actual summit. This way, we won't be locked down if someone fails to post on time.

The idea is to post all talks in rapid succession, and then immediately switch to the discussion panel, allowing everyone there to ask questions of all the speakers at the same time: this takes advantage of the forum as a recording medium of each talk to allow all questions at the same time ^_^

Again: the idea is to have short and sweet talks about actual economic mechanics and effects!

So, if you want to have your talk at the summit:
  1. Write a one or two sentence abstract to submit here, together with track you want to be in, the title, the speaker name and their affiliation. (It might be smart to include a short ooc-note to highlight the specific rules or economic mechanics you will write about, if this isn't clear from the abstract.)
  2. Start writing the talk itself! If I don't have it by 2014-04-05 it is not going into the summit.
  3. You'll hear from me whether the talk is accepted based on the abstract (it will be, unless it is gibberish ^_^)
  4. PM me the talk before 2014-04-05. I will post it for you during the summit. If you want to, include the necessary information for me to add the correct mask.
