A number of rumours have recently reached my ears. These rumours claim the Hiocan Society is busy gathering allies for a front against slavery.

I would like to know if these rumours hold any truth. If they do, I would like you to know the ACA will support you. We would be doing so from a background position. Certainly you can understand that. A world that supports slavery and murders children as part of their culture. Such a world would certainly not think twice of using the Astrians sent there as hostages.

What we can do is negotiate support for you from other worlds. If you are willing to accept our support.

What you have heard is true. I am talking to other faction about forming a anti-slave front.
We know that the Astrian Colonial Authority stands for their freedom, but as you are doing a cultural exchange with the Veolian Commonmwealth and are accepting slaves, we doubted you. Could you explain your point of view on the matter?

In the senate not all factions have voiced a clear opinion on the matter of slavery and we are still investigating to who we can turn. We would appreciate your help and connections on this matter.

Dear Senator Harek,

Originally the deal for the exchange was negotiated with the Former Stellarian Triad Federation. The government at the time was appeasing, sometimes even to the point of generating loss for the chance to trade with others.

When the ACA came to power we needed to show the Union we could still be trusted. As you undoubtedly know, the Veolian Commonwealth has some significant political influence. Continuing the exchange was simply the quickest and easiest way to gain more acceptance.

On slavery in general we have let it be outside our territory for the simple lack of being able to do anything about it. However now we are getting options to change things.

That all being said. I would like to know which factions you have already gathered to your cause. Also keep in mind we may need to incur some political favours in order to rally enough support to take the next step.

Currently we have the support of the Federal republic of Bisidn, Silverforest of Rezmunzie and the Teprogrenaian concensus, the Unified Republic of Darya has not shown interested.

If you look at the worlds/votes which are in favor/against of slavery, we are about equal size in the Senate, so we need to find some more allies. As both the Veolian Commonwealth and Preatorian empire have a lot of political influence this will be quite hard. I plan to hold a meeting together with the others so we discuss this matter. If you want to stay on the background it might be better that you do not come and I will pass on your input of support.
