The next chancellor elections are right around the corner and I wish to run in the elections. My plan is to stimulate colonisation by providing subsidies and expand the Union to fuel our ever growing economies. I have already secured support from the Lady-Senator Dewa Lanadi of the Veolian Commonwealth and I would like you to be my second running mate.

I offer you the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs should you agree and if I win the election.

Because I also wish to create better communication within the cabinet I must also ask you to agree to discuss any legislation you wish to propose or put to a vote within the cabinet first. This way we can prevent any internal conflicts and double check for possible mistakes. Lady-Senator Dewa and I have already agreed to this and I am certain you can see the benefit as well.

Let me start with, I am interested in your offer. However there are still some questions.

How do you intend to stimulate colonization and how does this benefit the Praetorian Empire? Before I can pledge my support I would like to have some more information on the implementation of these subsidies plans.

What do you plan to do with the other super factions outside the Union and what do you expect from me as minister of foreign affairs?

I agree with discussing all the legislation within the cabinet first, I hope this will prevent the mess we had this period. Does this mean we will first have a small vote with the cabinet to decide if a proposal will be brought to the senate?

If you are capable of satisfying my questions with suitable answers you will have my support.

Dear Lord-Senator Eldrilith,

I plan to create a grant for the construction of outposts and settlements and make this grant available to existing outposts and settlements as well. I believe the Praetorian Empire has an outpost, does it not?

These grants will be paid from a part of the contingency budget from each ministry, as these are rarely used for anything.

As the minister of foreign affairs I expect you to represent the Union to other superpowers and worlds not part of the Union. Provide aid to Union members who conduct business with these parties, without being biased about the goods that are traded. And handle matters that fall under your jurisdiction or are otherwise presented to you, to the best of your abilities.

I believe any vote we would have within the cabinet would be a yes or no vote. We will use discussion to properly decide if a proposal should be presented to the senate and make adjustments accordingly. I also invite you to present ideas you have to improve the Union to the cabinet.

Your plan for the colonization is clear enough for me at this point. I support this matter.

About the minister of foreign affairs position your view is clear to me as well, you have no specific plans, you want me to represent the Union and perform the tasks that are required from the minister of foreign affairs without being biased. I will perform this task to the best of my ability.

About the final question I still have a final matter that is not completely satisfied by your answer. What guarantees us that you as chancellor will not force another vote (similar to the votes in the current period) where the only option is to allow a certain action with some bells and whistles to obfuscate this fact?

I will pledge my support to your candidacy under the condition that the cabinet is unanimous on the proposed vote or there is an option to vote "no" which means that the situation will not change.

As you undoubtedly know many politicians are not fond of change. Even when there are clear advantages to that change. While I agree with you that a 'no' option should be present, I fear there will often be a failed vote because of this.

Never the less I will agree to your condition of either the cabinet being unanimous or a no vote be present, that will maintain the status quo.
