From: Office of the Chancellor of the Union
To: Embassy of the Silver Forests of Remunzia
Dear Senator Salixa,
The news of the arrival of a diplomatic vessel from the Slave Rebellion on Remunzia has reached me, as well as a tens of billions of Union citizens, today. While there are public rumours about preparations for an agreement with the Union as a whole, we both know that these rumours are unfounded. Neither the Chancellory nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been appraised of any talks.
While there is no provision in Union law that prohibits unilateral agreements with foreign powers, as such would infringe upon the sovereignty of the members of the Union, I would like to point out the power disparity between the Silver Forests of Remunzia and the Slave Rebellion. As such, I strongly advice against any negotiated agreement without the involvement of the Senate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore I hereby officially and respectfully request, in the capacity as Chancellor of the Union tasked with the responsibility of keeping the Union safe, that the Silver Forests of Remunzia disclose the subject of their talks with the Slave Rebellion and that they keep the chancellory appraised of developments in these talks.
With kind regards,
Chancellor Dewa Lanadi
