As I am certain you are aware, the Union is currently being threatened. In our Outer Rim area, the Slave Rebellion and the Hutt families are in conflict and we have already seen large numbers of refugees take to our borders - the war may soon follow them.

Meanwhile near the Galactic Core, the Mandalorians are building up a fleet, which the Echani expect us to fight against.

Chancellor Acehtoo is an excellent chancellor, but I do not believe she sees the true threat posed by these events. Both your worlds are skilled in the art of war as much as the art of diplomacy, two qualities we desperately need to make the Union see that we need to prepare for a conflict that though we do not wish for it, may be inevitable.

If I can count on your support in the upcoming election, if won, I would take especially close heed of whom your worlds would believe would be the best Minister of Defence.

Would your worlds be interested in such an arrangement?"

"Greetings, Senator Bol'var. I have been looking through the records of the Union and I find the results interesting, to say the least... I have found out that Chancellor Acehtoo has done very little indeed to protect the Union from possible threats. Something that both I and tyhe UEAC are most concerned with, especially since the Union is growing ever closer towards factions that are less reasonable.

I have to admit that we look upon your candidacy with great interest and indeed see many similarities between our opinons about things. Even so, I ask of you to give us some more time to properly judge the candidates. I shall ask questions to both you and Acehtoo in the Senate, and support the best candidate for the current situation."

For a short while, Zalyass remains silent.

((OOC: Seems I may have made an error here due to which I seem to be offering more than I can. In contrast to what I erroneously believed, Minor Worlds cannot become ministers. Please see viewtopic.php?f=12&t=577&p=3830 for details. You could still pick the minister of defence, you couldn't choose yourself in this case. I incorrectly assumed you could so that leaves my offer somewhat less impressive than I thought it would be!

Note however: if either the Teprogrenaian Consensus or the Unified Empire of Azaryan Colonies becomes an Inner World (As I heard, at least one of you had this plan), that would clearly resolve any issue of this nature and allow the taking up of the Ministerial position, provided Senator Bolv'ar wins the election (which is an entirely separate issue.

I do agree that chancellor Acetoo shows a hiding instinct, which is not the best tactic for now. However, although you do race valid points from time to time to discuss in the senate, like the issue with the senator of Skuldda, you have not proven to me to be a firm speaker against annoying people like senator Afra.

Every senator can raise valid points, and should do so, however in my opinion a chancellor should have the ability to stand his ground against twisted and incorrect arguments. Prove to me to be a both a good speaker and thinker and you have my vote.

One more important thing. I did not yet have viewed your concrete plans, but I must see there that we do not attack, but only defend.

"Senator Afra... is a problem. However I have learned that it is sometimes wisest to let her rage on for a while as she makes a fool of herself. If I am elected Chancellor, I will implement measures to help structure the debates, which should also allow me to deal with her more effectively." he nodded firmly.

"I agree with your policy of defence, mind you. We hope for the best of peace, but given the nature of the galaxy, it would be best if we were prepared for the worst of war."

"We have evaluated your approach and the one of Acethoo, and have decided we are in favour of you.

For the issue of becoming a minister, we are surprised that you are willing to assign such important tasks to such new members, but will accept nonetheless. However, we are currently not allowed to become a minister, as we are still a minor world. We are growing to become an inner world but at this moment it is hard to say when we are ready.

It would mean a great deal to us when you would help to change the law so minor worlds do have the possibility of of becoming a minister too. If I am correct, you can find some aid by senator Nehket Aeka for this matter.
