Hello T'Sal,

Some time ago, I offered to try and convince my family to sponsor your personal research into the micro-black branes. You replied that you could do that at your father's institute, and that you would write a recommendation.

Well, that recommendation you wrote must have been very good. It appears you have convinced some very important people that this research is worth the effort. I just received a short message from my grandfather, that I should keep in touch with you, as he was very impressed with your insight into the topic. He specifically asked me to extend an invitation to you, to come to Mirda and work on the EDDA project for a few weeks.

As I understand it, the EDDA (which stands for Extra-dimensional Detector Array) project is split into multiple work packages. My family's institute is collaborating with a few other institutes, some of them in the Praetorian Empire. I am unsure of the amount of funding involved, but judging by the scale of the project I would guess that I could never have convinced my family to fund it for you.

Of course, you would be well compensated for your time and expertise, and you would probably be able to get some kind of pseudo-permanent arrangement out of this: I'm reasonably sure that my grandfather could be convinced to permanently allocate you some laboratory space and spare-time use of the equipment, should you decide to accept his invitation.

I look forward to your reply.

With kind regards,
Shebi Ajava

Hello miss Shebi,

I was waiting from the Jedi council to respond with what actions they were going to take from our report. But I already got the idea that our and the weapons merchants’ mission were done for the Union senate. So that would mean that the senate would decide what to do with the information. So it seems that they wrote a project of it to develop this technology. That is good to know.

I know that the Veolian Commonwealth is technology oriented but did not know that’s they would immediately invest this project. But this shows that they know what the possibilities are with this new technique.

For a good recommendation you need to look further then your own field, with my knowledge on science, engineering and historical aspect you get quite far. But being a Hiocan helps, you should come to a science presentation, you need to be very thorough in your research if you want to survive the questioning round. Doing physics helps with researching on small particles.

I am honored your grand-father has invited me to join the project. More collaboration between species and faction is good. The Veolians clearly posses larger resources and uses it to acquire new technologies. Hiocans do not have the large fund, so cannot compete on this scale, it would take them quite some time longer to develop something.

So I will accept your grandfather’s offer and join the research project, as this will be a ones-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am a jedi and a scientist so I not think that I need permanent space at Mirda as I am still a padawan and want to learn more at the Jedi temple.

There will be quite some cultural differences. I heard you have slavery and nobles houses this does not exist within the Hiocan society. Could you help me with the preparations so that I do make a good impression?

Yours sincerely,

T’sal

Dear T'Sal,

I am glad that you decided to accept my grand-father's invitation.

I think that there were a bit more steps between our discovery of the research station and the development of a project. For one, I am fairly sure that the Senate does not write research projects; their job is determining laws and governing the Union. I surmise that the information has been sent to the individual embassies, and that from there it has been forwarded to the different research institutes.

But in either case, you get the opportunity to collaborate on the project!

I will gladly help you understand Veolian culture, shall we meet in the library? We will probably have the holo-projection room to ourselves at this time of day.

With kind regards,

Shebi Ajava

PS. Mirda is but a six-day trip from Unity; I advice you to have a look around first. With the current focus of the Union's policies I don't think that the science facilities here in Unity city will measure up to those on Mirda.

((OOC: You can reply, or you could start a new thread in the library where we continue the roleplay of the introduction to veolian culture ^_^))

Dear Miss Shebi,

In the library seems fine.
See you in half an hour.
(Then you have some time to prepare)

Yours sincerely,

T’sal
