Dear mister Le Froy and miss Serrah,

I have checked the turn reports to see if all the subsidies are accounted for. Unfortunately, to my surprises the upkeep of the hyperspace lanes have not been included in the turn reports. Only the Teprogrenaian Consensus has noted the maintenance once in turn 73. I think it is appropriate to send a warning to all factions and put a penalty on it like not getting the subsidy. What do you think?

Your sincerly,

Counselor Saleris

((OOC: The bozzy spine maintenance should be in the turn report template and turn report checker should point out to players the maintenance cost.))

Counselor Saleris,

With all due respect, I think that you might omitted to inform yourself of all tax report procedures.

As can be seen from the documented Turn Report procedure, bozzy spine junction subsidies are automatically balanced against upkeep figures of said bozzy spine junction hyperspace lanes.

With regards,

Serrah

No it should not.

The upkeep for the Hyperspace lanes is calculated directly by the Tax tool, allowing players and turn checkers to get a quick overview of their economic processes. Have a look at the Veolian Commonwealth as an example, and note the 200 incoming tax from 'Bozzy Spine subsidies: Veolian Commonwealth' which is balanced against the 'Hyperspace Lane 0' upkeep figures.

If you want to comment on the handling of turn reports, make sure you actually know what you're talking about. The Bozzy Spine Infrastructure Committee is in part an IC device to handle an OOC problem, which you were aware of as per the Hyper space lanes new players thread. As you decided to put forward a candidate for this committee, I expect you to know such basic things as the tax tool, and how turn reports actually work.))

Dear miss Serrah,

They are indeed balanced out and thus the net results in zero. What I meant is that due to this net 0 it is not noted down somewhere in the system properly so we can back-trace it to do a proper bookkeeping check.

To solve this we can check the cash flow of the ministry to see whether the upkeep is paid out to the factions as a second check. This way the funds are accounted for; all 17 hyperspace lanes resulting in 3400 (:tax) of upkeep.

Yours sincerely

Counselor Saleris

((OOC: As the tax tool is not back traceable I hope all turn-report checker see to it that the subsidies are all right. To the ministry of commerce we have to note down the upkeep subsidy and also make a reservation for adding new worlds and paying the upkeep.))
