Jedi Combat maneuvre and new style ideas

Yesterday we have been brainstorming about the third maneuvre for Ataru. Since Ataru is already very offensive we looked at something a bit more defense oriented. This maneuvre has a defensive touch.

Feint Attack
By aggressively jumping at your opponent and turning away at the last moment you can trick your opponent.

You give up an offensive advantage and gain a defensive advantage with this maneuvre.

You can have at most a single defensive advantage gained with Feint Attack at any time, as normal.

+1 blocking, +1 deflecting

I believe it does not really have to be the action of the round by itself since you only switch your advantage. (Compared with Rising Baraw in Paraan Talim which can combine gaining a offensive advantage and offensive DCA, furthermore Assured Strike of Juyo is also not declared as the action of the round)
I would like to use this maneuvre as a prerequisite for a Tier II dual wield style that is a follow up for Ataru.

Possibly Jar'Kai ?

Maneuvres could be based on tricks with two lightsabers or simply things like:
Blocking with 1 lightsaber opening up an attack with the other. (bypassing his defence)
Attacking with 2 lightsabers at once for a stronger attack.
Defending with 2 lightsabers for a powerful block.

(Administrative note first: please link styles you are referring to in your post. All it requires is a [rules] tag around the style name to let the forum handle the linking.)

Your comparison with Paraan Talim ignores the fact that Rising Baraw is a conditional. Because it is conditional, it is easier to defend against because the opponent knows where you will be trying to focus. The Assured Strike of Juyo exchanges a advantage (worth 3 dots) for a 1-round boost of 4 dots. Also, Assured Strike only gives 1 permanent dot.

Switching an advantage is a good trick to pull, since you convert advantage offensive dots to advantage defense dots. Not having it cost an action allows you to combine it with a normal advantage action, allowing for a sudden increase of defence of +2 on every ring within a single round.

In my opinion, this manoeuvre allows for too much dot movement for a Tier I style, next to being against the spirit of Ataru. Then again, I really like the dynamic of switching an advantage, as it allows you to use Ataru with more flexibility.

I propose to alter the manoeuvre in two ways. I want to prevent doubling down on defense, and I think that allowing this manoeuvre to combine with DCAs unconditionally (unlike Rising Baraw) makes the manoeuvre powerful enough to warant only a single permanent defensive dot:

Feint Attack
Fluff.

By voluntarily giving up an offensive advantage you gain a defensive advantage. This manoeuvre may not be combined with an advantage action. You can have at most a single defensive advantage gained with Feint Attack at any time, as normal.

+1 blocking, +1 deflecting

I propose we focus on getting consensus on on the manoeuvre first, before we get into designing a new Tier II style (which is very cool to do, but requires more brainstorming and drafting of the new style's philosophy... That'll confuse the issue of balancing the manoeuvre.)

I agree to prevent the manoeuvre to be combined with an advantage action. Otherwise it would just be too strong. Aside this, I think it is a cool manoeuvre. It might not be an offensive manoeuvre, but at the other hand, it is a logical manoeuvre to have when you like your style, and your life.
