Is it possible to assign different ranks to different forum accounts?

The current account list is rather long (due to the abundance of Character accounts, both Player and Non-Player). If the Characters could get a 'Character' rank, and the actual real-life persons a 'Player' rank, this would help with sorting the list and finding people to PM.

On a side note; I find the name change of 'Revenant' to 'Lifebringer Clans' confuses the distinction between IC and OOC (I know we have IC and OOC forums, but that doesn't help me). Wouldn't it be better if people just create a few extra accounts that actually represent their faction/senator/other interesting character or subfaction?

I created one account to avoid having to make half a dozen for my faction. When I post on an OOC forum, or in ((OOC: )) tags, it's an OOC post. On IC posts, I note who is speaking in the post itself. (Or, well, try to as much as possible. It's clear which account should be messaged, and it avoids cluttering the account list.

I can understand how having a single account is simple. But it becomes less so when you want to portray multiple characters with differing points of view (as I have 6 noble houses each of which runs about 1/6th of the Veolian Commonwealth); I really like being able to see which character said what, without having to read the full post.

Your mileage may vary of course. I still think having forum ranks would help with the list, maybe even to the point of quickly finding the account you're looking for.

I plan to look into integrating the forum and the wiki better. That might bring with it the opportunity to support actual 'character accounts' (so you can just select one of your characters form a dropdown without having to switch accounts.)

I am not sure how ranks work on this forum, though I am pretty sure they are supported somewhere. I'll look into it. At the least I can mark NPC's as NPC's.
