I guess i read the example on the race bonuses wrong. Please note explicitly that these bonuses are for each 1 billion inhabitants. The text does not say that you get a +5 for each billion now. Only the flight and population growth say something about the size of the population.

"Normally, a Vehicle zone would produce 150 vehicles each turn as long as 150 metals and 150 gasses were provided (100 base + 50 from being upgraded). However, now that it is specialised, the zone of player A will produce 300 Swoop Bikes, the zone of player B will produce 300 Land Speeders and the zone of player C will produce 300 X-wing Fighters: their production has doubled. "

In this case you do not require 300 metal and 300 gasses after specialization?

Important other things i would like to know:
Scaling a trade fleet, at what cost?
Is it possible to make a trade fleet that has a capacity less then 100?
What is the cost of buying a new trade fleet? Do you even have to buy it or is it just the maintenance?

What is the cost of upgrading a zone? Is this the same as creating a zone or less?

The bonus for races has been clarified on the wiki (it was already present in one sentence, but not very easily visible - it should now be more clear).

Yes, if you produce 300 land speeders you need 300 metals and 300 gasses. Note that you can also specialise in raw materials - in this case naturally no additional raw materials are necessary.

Trade fleet prices will be fixed hopefully before otherwise during the weekend. The cost of upgrading a zone is equal to half the cost of buying a zone. Note that on planets with natural life, this cost is halved again. Usually it is more efficient to purchase new zones on the same planet before upgrading them - this is intentional.
