For this vote four neutral senators have been selected.
The options are:
“The following member worlds may vote:

A holoimage of the veolian senator appears.
"The Veolian Commonwealth votes: Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation."
"The Veolian Commonwealth votes: Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation."
A servant of Imperial Prince Odakim V of the Rising Suns of Deominius rises, holding a holoprojector.
"This committe is a waste of time. This investigation is irrelevant. We vote NO!"
"This committe is a waste of time. This investigation is irrelevant. We vote NO!"
To prevent the notion of favouritism the Unified Republic of Darya Abstains form this vote

Abstain
"The Sundarian Federation votes for Senator Nehket Aeka of the Veolian Commonwealth."
"The kingdom of Komès votes for Senator Enrorgh of Meritonia"
"The kingdom of Meritonia abstains, we feel we are unable to make an unbiased choice in this matter."
"The Confederacy of Excaria votes for Senator Harek of the Hiocan Society."
"We abstain on this matter."
"The Socialist Republic of Niom votes to have Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation on the committee for the investigation into the Daryan involvement in the transfer of power from the Stellarian Triad Federation to the Astrian Colonial Authority."
"Scir abstains on this matter."
Liberal Assencia deliberately did not vote in this vote. They didn't abstain, they simply didn't register any vote. Was something odd going on?
Like their Liberal Assencian friends, the Free Peoples of Wrarrbo also deliberately omitted a vote. How very odd...

"We of the Teprogrenaian Consensus vote for Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation."
"Bisidn votes for Senator Nehket Aeka."
"I believe the options of this vote to be invalid, as Senator Nehket Aeka of the Veolian Commonwealth is no longer just a senator but a minister. The Law of Motions explicitly states that one senator must be elected who is not a member of the cabinet.
If this motion carries, I will call in a motion of no confidence as clearly the law will not be uphold by the cabinet!"

"Senator Lonco Morubixaba, the vote has been opened before this cabinet took up office. Furthermore, the motion for an inquiry has already carried in a previous vote.
Might I suggest that you vote for a neutral party, instead of threathening the lawful execution of an inquiry."

"The Hiocan Society votes for Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation as neutral party to do this investigation."
"Just like the previous vote the Principality of Suma abstains."

Atheos - PC
"The Astai Republic agrees with Senator Lonco that it would be questionable for Senator Nehket Aeka to be part of the committee. While legally valid we feel that it is not in the spirit of the law for a minister to take part, whatever the status at the start of the vote. Therefore we also agree with Senator Nehket Aeka and we vote for Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation."
"Minister Nehket Aeka, It is not the motion what is a problem, it is the problem that we can vote on a minister. We are voting for a committee member which is not a minister. The committee does not exists yet in its fully extend. If you are elected as committee member, then the committee will contain two ministers and no senators, which is against the law of the motion of inquiry."
"Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation: 5 votes
Senator Enrorgh of Meritonia: 1 vote
Senator Harek of the Hiocan Society: 1 vote
Senator Nehket Aeka of the Veolian Commonwealth: 2 votes
Abstains / Invalid: 11 votes
The Union asks Lady Peinaili de Montrève of the Sundarian Federation to join the committee. Will she accept this duty?"

"Chancellor, Senators,"
Peinaili started her speech as she spoke to the senate after the results of the vote had been announced,
"I am honoured to receive the confidence of the Senate in this matter, and I will gladly accept the position as member of the committee. Together with the Chancellor I will strive to obtain more insight in the events surrounding the transfer of power in the Novelia System and the extend of the involvement of the Republic of Darya by means of their delivered Capital ships or any other contributions.
This task will not prove to be an easy task, especially since the Novelia System is currently an active war-zone which might limit the availability of reliable information. Nonetheless I'm confident that we should be able to reach a conclusion, and report our findings to the Senate within a reasonable time frame.
I also understand the reluctance to investigate this matter during a time of great conflict or that this may be seen as meddling in state affairs which something the Union doesn't normally do. I believe that I can also speak for the Chancellor when I say that we will try to limit the use of resources to a minimum and carefully way the time needed for our research and interviews with involved parties as the current war should and does take precedence.
I also believe that the Union should leave the internal affairs of state to the respective member state as much as possible, but since the Daryan's have announced they would like to see their involvement investigated, they even seconded the motion of inquiry, I see no reason not to proceed with this inquiry.
Thank you."
