At this moment, all fleets are gathered at sector 5 -5, shoud we continue the chase into Mandalorian teritory, or end the war?

Nehket Aeka looked pensive for a moment. "I see little reason to chase into Mandalorian territory. There is no precedent for the Union as a whole to acquire territory through conquest, and we can't force the Mandalorian tax worlds to become members. We don't have the necessary military reach."

"I believe the Union Defence Fleets have done their job. We will probably only be giving territory to the Echani if we continue now. What will they give us in return? Do you plan to negotiate with them?"

"As it appears, there is a large battle goin on in sector 5 -5 between the Echani and the Mandalorians. We can wipe out the Mandalorian thread with help of the Echani, or we can let them sort it out.

What is your advice, and what other options do you see? The action we will take here will determine for a large part the vision of this cabinet and the balance of the superpowers."

"If we wipe the Mandalorians out, nothing is preventing the Echani from claiming part of the Mandalorian territory, while we can't do the same. This would not be in our favour. I suggest that we let them fight it out, and enjoy two weakened neighbours."

"There is another option. While the Union might not be willing to increase their territory through conquest, some of the member worlds might be. In that case, it would be very beneficial to destroy the Mandalorian fleets."

"That sounds interesting. However, are there Union members who are strong enough to actually hold a piece of territory so far away? They probably have to defend against the remaining Mandalorian fleets, or the Echani, and need a lot of available taxes to succeed.

From perspective of the ministry of defence, it is best not to interfere in the fight, and attack the remainings of both fleets. However, the Teprogrenaian Consensus does not want to attack the Echani, because they haven't shown any sign of aggression towards us."

Tassar pondered for a moment.

"I think it is best to retreat and repair our fleets. Nehket Aeka can, as minister of foreign affairs, try to open communications with the Echani and the Mandalorians."

"Please have our highest ranking officer in Sector 5 -5 contact the Echani as well with the message that the Union considers the effort of protecting the Union completed, and that we thank the Echani for their timely assistance."

"I will open up diplomatic communications when I have received confirmation that our fleets have withdrawn."

"Our fleets are withdrawing as we speak. I have ordered Alexander Giambastiani to thank the Echani for their assistance, and that we are retreating now."
