[ Senate ] Duchess Dewa Lanadi announces Candidacy (281-330)

"Senators,
In the past electoral period, we have made headway towards the goal of improving the positions of those that take up the mantle of leadership. We have also started concrete work on the establishment of the Supreme Court.
In the last electoral period I ran for office because no one else would. Now it seems that, again, no one has come forward to take up the mantle of the office of the Chancellor of the Union. To me this is evidence that my work is not yet done.
In the upcoming period, I hope to continue my efforts on improving the situation of the chancellor and the ministers. I plan to re-envision these positions of great import and responsibility and to make sure that their work is acknowledged, and that the weight of the responsibilities they take on is appropriately balanced. To do so, I will review ministry budgets, I will review the duties and responsibilities of the position of Minister, and I will look into changes that will allow ministries to run projects without the current bureaucratic red tape.
But more importantly, I plan on reviewing the whole Union bureaucracy. To see where it can be trimmed down, to see how new technologies — such as breakthroughs in computer interfacing and new multi-species ergonomic theories — can be applied to make the Union's bureaucracy more efficient. Any savings produced by rectifying overly large bureau's will be used towards lowered taxes for all Union members.
If you want the Union to bristle with new ideas, if you want to have candidates standing at the ready for an election race, and if you want lowered taxes, help me make it so!"
The candidacy of duchess Dewa Lanadi is immediately seconded by the senators of the Astrian Colonial Authority and the Astai Republic.
