Ministers,

A detailed investigation into the current situation of the Mandalorian Fleets has been completed, at great cost but with important results:

The Mandalorian Fleets appear to be divided up into six different clans, down from seven as was previously believed. These factions, each controlling between two and five war-fleets in multiple sectors are supplied by tax-worlds, conquered planets that owe supplies and resources to these fleets. The importance of the tax-worlds to the fleets cannot be overstated - without support from these planets, the Mandalorian war fleets are unable to function as they are designed for warfare, not deep space travel. Furthermore these are the main source of new ships to replace lost vessels.

As such, it is especially disturbing that Clan Markoth, the biggest clan in the Mandalorian Fleets has recently scored several major victories against Clan Elkroth, formally the second biggest clan, wiping out most of their war-fleets and moving in to conquer the Elkroth territories. If they are successful in finishing off Clan Elkroth, Clan Markoth stands to gain control of half of the Mandalorian Fleet territories. If they do, a detailed analysis of Mandalorian politics suggests that the other Mandalorian Clans will declare fealty to Clan Markoth, effectively granting them control over all the Mandalorian Fleet territories.

As such, it is the opinion of the investigative committee that the threat of the Mandalorian Fleets observed by the Echani is accurate and that the situation in the Mandalorian territories requires special attention.

The report came with a 5000 (:tax) price tag attached, the money that had been spent on the investigation into the Mandalorian Fleets, but fortunately this also meant the Union now had much more detailed information on the Mandalorian Fleets, their capabilities and limitations and had the infrastructure in place to do more.

((OOC: If you have any additional questions, you can summon the investigative committee to answer them.))

Ardios Eldrilith summons the comittee. (Senator Nehket Aeka is invited to the meeting as well)

"We would like to know what the time frame of this situation is. In other words, could you give an estimation on how long it will take the Markoth clan to finish of the Elkroth clan at their current pace.

Are there other clans that might be willing to turn against the Markoth clan? Will they fight against the Markoth if they are supported by the Echani or the Union?

And finally, what approach do you advice for the upcoming weeks."

"In our estimate," the committee reported "this should happen in the next months, roughly.

Additionally, it is our estimates that the Mandalorian clans would be unwilling to accept outside aid, as this would label that clan as weak.

We would advise we monitor the situation and prepare the Union for a possible confrontation."
