Senator Nehket Aeka stood up.

"Fellow senators,

It seems that the senate buildings are not as safe as we were led to believe! Not only where some of the offices infiltrated, but the main senate hall and one of the embassies as well!

This time, it was graffiti. Next time, it could be a bomb!

I demand that the head of senate security appear before us to explain how this could have happened."

After a painful silence, senator Danar Tassar also stood up.

"Who are these people anyway? 'Follow the white rabbit'... they clearly need some lessons in communicating. It did not appear as regular vandalism created by some school boys who wanted some excitement. So if this is a message from activist, they would have a meaning with the message and they probably have an agenda.

But both are still very unclear."

"We demand a explanation from the head of security."

With a toughtfull expresion Lady-senator Maria Latharion stood up to speak.

"I agree that this is a serious security matter, however this does not look like an act of random vandalism."

She paused a moment to let her words sink in with the other senators before she continued.

"There does seem to be a meaning in the words, but perhaps the location of the graffiti also has meaning. An explanation from the head of security would be very welcome too. More specificly an explanation on wether the perpetrators, as I find there is to little information on their motive to call them activists, got inside the senate undetected due to skill or if security dropped the preverbial ball."

Before I begin let me apologise sincerely for this unacceptable breach of security.

I have personally handled the investigation and at this time we are unable to determine how the vandals were able to avoid detection by the security grid. I know this is not a satisfactory conclusion, and we are continuing the investigation but at this time we believe they may have used either a back-door in the software, which so far we have been unable to find.

We believe this event to be a political one related to the visit of the Veolian Empress to the Senate as the locations struck seem to have been ones visited by her Imperial Highness. The message appears to be a rallying call of some sort, though we have as of yet been unable to determine who or what is the "white rabbit" or why they should be followed. Perhaps it is a pop culture icon from one of the Veolian subcultures?

Regardless, we will continue the investigation into this incident."

The Chancellor listened silently to the words of the Head of Senate Security, standing up and walking out of the Senate hall rather than waiting for the rest of the debate, leaving many behind in confusion as such an act was highly irregular.

[Senator Harek]

Senator Harek looks over and sees the chancellor leave. He sighs and takes a deep breath. He stands up and speaks.

“Thank you sir for your explanation. We hope security will be able to solve this mystery soon.

Dear senators, this explanation raises only more questions. It at least shows us that these people were experts and/or had help from the inside.

I had hoped that our chancellor would say some word as he said that he would defend the Union. But is seems that he has another way to do that.

This is a Union, together we are strong. There should be no dissension. We should respect each other differences and together work on more understanding and cooperation.”

There was a beeping sound a moment and the Head of Senate Security looked at his holocom.

"Senators, if you would please excuse me, it appears I have been summoned... in the middle of a senate meeting, for some reason..." he added the latter part a lot softer.

And to make everything even stranger, the man too walked out of the senate meeting.

The strange behavior of the Chancellor did not go unnoticed by Maria and for the Head of Security to just leave like that...

"Something is wrong." she wispered to herself.

Deciding this meeting was now rather pointless without the chancellor or the head of security she got up and left to get answers another way.
