• Senator Nehket Aeka of the Veolian Commonwealth, who is backed by senator Mathi-ey C'b'rton of the Divine Fiefdom of Highmons and senator Maria Latharion of the Stellarian Triad Federation. Senator Nehket Aeka wishes for stability and cooperation within the union without laying focus on a singular aspect. Discussion Thread

"My congratulations to Senator Nehket Aeka for winning the elections. I am sure she will be a fine Chancellor who will inspire the Union with her leadership.

When I became chancellor last election, I promised to work towards bringing security to the Union. It was for this and this alone that I was elected. I have been unable to complete that mission and I must now leave that mission to the next chancellor.

As such, I feel that I have no choice but to leave the political arena. At the end of this week, I will be stepping down not just as chancellor, but as senator as well. At that time, my successor will also be named.

Earlier, both the Veolian Commonwealth and the Stellarian Triad Federation stepped forward in an effort to reconcile the differences between our nations in the past weeks. I much appreciate their efforts and gestures in this and I am certain our nations will step past this disagreement without difficulty to become even stronger friends. I have asked my government to be allowed to handle the ceremonies surrounding this after laying down my official duties, as a show that my departure is bittersweet, rather than just bitter.

I thank you all for the chance to have led this Union, and I apologize sincerely for my failure to deliver on all I set out to do.."
