((OOC: I assume that some form of holonet communication preceded this meeting, but I didn't want to start a holonet topic just to get an invitation. However, because of this, I have little information to go on, so I only arrive at whereever the Jedi master sends me.))

Padawan Shebi Ajava arrived at the location Jedi Counselor Gri'pan told her to meet her. She wore her usual: a black and red light armour. She carried her lightsaber at her belt. In her right hand she carried a bundle of cloth, carefully wrapped so that no one could glimpse what was inside.

Despite her usually calm demeanor, Ajava appeared slightly nervous.

Gri'pan looked up as Padawan Shebi Ajava arrived at her personal gardens. The message she received from the padawan was anxious to say the least. So a calming environment might help.

"Welcome Shebi Ajava" Gri'pan said calm. She tended to some small weird looking plants and waited for her guest to come close
"Please sit if you like" and she motioned to a linen cloth sheet she laid out on the small grass. The garden was not that large. It looked like something a person might keep as a hobby with a few plants here and there. Though the plants that where here were more exotic looking then a general garden. But that was not important.

"From your invitation it was not hard to understand that something is troubling you youngling. So what may I help you with today?"

Shebi Ajava felt at home in the garden. The natural environment on her home world was jungle-like, and she always felt at home in it.

"Thank you for making time to see me, master", she said with a bow.

After approaching the twi'lek master, Shebi Ajava patiently stood and waited for the master to finish tending her plants, and turn to Ajava to speak. Ajava looked slightly surprised at the master's use of the word 'youngling', which was normally used to indicating children such as Salia, and possibly initiates.

"I would ask your advice on a sensitive matter. As my padawan training nears completion I have tried my hand at creating my own set of lightsabers.", Ajava unconsciously stressed the words padawan and completion. "I let the force guide me in this, as is proper. But every time I do, I encounter the same difficulty..."

She carefully sits down on the linen, and lays the bundle of cloth on the linen as well, and unwraps the contents. On the unwrapped bundle lie two rough lightsaber cores, held together with simple durasteel clamps. The cores were expertly crafted, and it was clear that Shebi Ajava knew what she was doing. There were even small spaces left open for later improvements, as if she already planned to modify her lightsaber later on. It's obvious to the master that the mechanism to activate the saber was completely internal. This meant that only a force user would be able to active the core and project a blade.

"Every time I try, my lightsabers end up being red. I can construct lightsabers that have different colours by careful selection of components, but every time I let myself be guided by the force, my sabers end up red. As there are a few jedi masters that look unfavourable on wielders of red lightsabers, I took them apart again and came here for advice in this matter."

((OOC: Wow... I just checked the age difference of the characters in this conversation. Shebi Ajava: 83, Gri'pan: 24. Calling me a 'youngling'... :) Also, how come Gri'pan is only 24 years old and already a Jedi Master?! O_o))

Gri'pan listens to every word carefully and is in deep thought. Padawan Shebi Ajava almost wanted to speak again but was interruped soon.

"I can understand why this is a sensitive matter and you are most certainly correct that the colour red is somewhat looked down upon. Though to my knowledge that is mostly taught and unfounded. In my studies I have been looking into many aspects of jedi's in the past and the future. It is no secret that the colour red is associated with some sort of a desire for power. Leading the popular believe that only users of the dark side of the force are too wield red lightsabers. However I understood from ancient jedi's that the colour was based on strong personality traits. people who are naturally calm and composed where more leaning on blue for example. or green standing for the desire for peace. Perhaps red in this case mean passion for a cause. It is never been truly confirmed since for a long time colour has been taught and given instead of guided. But it is my personal view to see it this way."

Gri'pan lets the words sink in for a moment and lets the soft sounds of her small garden fill the room. After a while she continues

"Whatever popular believe might be. What do you personally think it means Shebi Ajava?"

((OOC: At the moment I made Gri'pan I did not know how Twi'leks age. so the 24 is more a dummy number then her actually age. I looked it up not too long ago and judging from what I found her age should be like around 60. being a late adult. Although her age would still be lower then yours I use the term "youngling" more to note rank then actually age. Its a tick of Gri'pan mostly. Padawans are people who are just starting in their journey of the force mostly and for someone who learned so much (from her scientist side) padawans are still "young" when it comes to knowledge :). Therefor her use of the term))

"From what I have been able to gather from what little texts we have available, and by speaking with the masters, the colour red stands for aggression and survival of the fittest. I spent a lot of time meditating on that. These traits are readily observed on my home world, Mirda."

Shebi Ajava hesitated for the shortest of moments.

"However, these are not the traits of a Jedi. We should embody self-sacrifice, compassion, honesty and mercy. The philosophy of the universal force even dictates that aggression is a trait of the dark side... Maybe the force guides me to see that my upbringing would not lead me to be a good Jedi."

((OOC: That explains a lot. The 'youngling' remark was intended as a joke; I was amused by the age difference. Though I must admit that 60 for Gri'pan sounds much more logical (and much less funny :P)))

"Aggression...survival of the fittest... They are indeed term i came across as well. However I find that it is the person is more leading in its path then you might think. Just because one is more aggressive then another does not mean he is not honest. Just because someone is aggressive does not mean he can not show mercy and of course just because someone has a strong will to survive, wont mean he wont sacrifice himself or show compassion . In my opinion, it is the fact that you're thinking about this clear sign that you will turn out to be a great Jedi. The fact that those traits might be slightly stronger does not mean you lack the others."

Gri' pan turns her head and looks into the garden.

Shebi Ajava remained silent, thinking on the words and meaning of the master. After a while, she looked up again.

"Thank you master. I will meditate on what you have said."

She carefully gathered her lightsaber components and folded them into the cloth again. She then stood up. If she wasn't interrupted, she would bow to the master, and leave her be in her garden.

((OOC: Not all threads need to be long. Thanks for the roleplay ^_^))
