((OOC: I assume that some form of holonet communication preceded this meeting, but I didn't want to start a holonet topic just to get an invitation. However, because of this, I have little information to go on, so I only arrive at whereever the Jedi master sends me.))

Padawan Shebi Ajava arrived at the location Jedi Master Leithor told her to meet her. She wore her usual: a black and red light armour. She carried her lightsaber at her belt. With her she carried a brown bag.

She seemed calm, but the Jedi master could easily sense her apprehension.

"Ah, Padawan Shebi, please come in." Master Leithor said. He was sitting in a meditative posture in the center of the room, his back turned towards the door.

The room they where in was round. The side opposite from the door was a single large window that offered a view of Unity City.

"Sit and tell me what bothers you. Your message was a bit unclear."

Shebi Ajava sat down next to the Jedi Master, so his view of Unity City wasn't blocked. She made sure to sit far enough away to not sit in his personal space. She put the bag next to her.

"I have been practicing my lightsaber construction skills, master. I had hoped to construct my own lightsabers before my training as a padawan is finished. But I have encountered a difficulty. I meditated on the problem, in hopes of understanding why it happens, but every time I try to construct the lightsaber the some problem occurs..."

It seemed Shebi Ajava took her time to seek the right words.

"Master, every time I try, I can only make a red lightsaber. I can force it to be other colours, be careful selection of the components. But every time I meditate, and let the force guide my construction, I end up with a red blade." She grabs a bundle of cloth from the bag, and puts it on the floor. "This is the result. The core always ends up like this. So I seperated the core from the hilt, and took out the power crystal."

She unfurls the bundle, and on it lie two rough lightsaber cores, held together with simple durasteel clamps. The cores were expertly crafted, and it was clear that Shebi Ajava knew what she was doing. There were even small spaces left open for later improvements, as if she already planned to modify her lightsaber later on. It's obvious to the master that the mechanism to activate the saber was completely internal. This meant that only a force user would be able to active the core and project a blade.

((OOC: Even with the worst check available to me, I have ((Check: 10 = 6 Force Level + 3 Reason + 1 Lightsaber Construction -- Constructing a lightsaber from scratch)), so that would warrant expert construction, I think. Especially since you could argue that letting the force guide your construction would be Intuition, or even Energy.))

"What do you think this means?" The Jedi Master asked. "That it turns out red when you let the Force guide you."

He castes a quick glance to the parts Shebi Ajava layed out, but doesn't really pay attention to it.

"I spent a lot of time meditating on that. The colour red is associated with aggression and survival of the fittest, and these traits are readily observed on my home world, Mirda. However, these are not the traits a Jedi. We should embody self-sacrifice, compassion, honesty and mercy. The philosophy of the universal force even dictates that aggression is a trait of the dark side..."

"If I give over control of my thoughts to the force, to my instincts, the only outcome I experience aggression and other emotions. I seem unable to fully relieve myself of those thoughts. I think this means that I might not be cut out to be a Jedi."

"Tell me, do I look like a droid to you?

Do the other Jedi look like droids to you?"

"No master. You do not.", the Veolian padawan looked confused, "Some do... Fecta Trigiel and Nathan Miodrass Asillion look like advanced droids. But what does that have to do with this?"

"You make it sound like Jedi aren't supposed to have emotions, like droids.

We are people, human, veolian, what ever. Experiencing emotions is as natural as drawing breath.

What did you feel when you gave the High Priestess from the STF a tour of the gardens?"

Ajava hesitated. She had already discussed some of those feelings with Master Screetor, and he told her to meditate on the feelings, to find what caused them, and to understand how to control such emotions. While she thought on how to reply, she couldn't help but think of the priestess and what she wanted to do.

Even though from outside it looked like a simple blush that crept up her face, to her it felt like her face was on fire. 'Oh no', she tought to herself, 'this is not going away anytime soon.'

"Is that really relevant? Because I'd rather not talk about that. I discussed it with master Screetor, and he told me to meditate on that problem."

With that, she hoped to be done with the subject.

"Unfortunately meditation solves less problems than most Jedi Masters would like to believe.

But if you don't wish to talk about it, we won't.

My point is that from the looks of things you didn't act on those feelings, which is more fortunate than you know."

Master Leithor paused for a moment to let his words sink in.

"Speaking of Astrians, did you know they have quite a different view on the colour red than the Jedi?"

((OOC: I hope you don't mind I mention them for a moment.))

Shebi Ajava thought about the words of Master Leithor. He was very perceptive, but she didn't expect anything less of a Jedi Master.

"I did not. I spent my time with the priestess talking about plants and my feelings, talking about it with her helped me a lot."

((OOC: Hey, he's the Jedi Master. His words are wise, and his insights deep. Go for it! ^_^))

"That is good, merely telling your feelings to someone helps more than people often realize.

But back to the subject of your sabre.

Tell me what do you think of the colour red?"

"The colour red is associated with survival of the fittest, and I know that that is not a bad thing. But I also know that there are Jedi Masters who think that the colour shouldn't be used, as the associated aggression is in conflict with the jedi code.

I am not sure. Maybe the force is telling me that I will be a strong and fit Jedi... But it could also be trying to tell me that I am not going to end up a good Jedi. In that case, it might be better for me to stop my training.

I believe that most problems can be solved without aggression, in fact, I try to do so when possible. But I also believe that you should strive to improve yourself, and that those who don't are not worth the effort to help or save. I think that some of the Masters do not think this to be very Jedi like..."

She didn't know Master Leithor well, and had expected him to speak wise words and have some advice. Instead, he asked simple questions. So, instead of answering directly, she was thinking that his questions had a deeper meaning. However, this question was not meant to have a deeper meaning. Ajava felt a bit embarrassed that she let her preconceptions cloud her mind.

"You meant the actual colour.", she stated. "I like the colour red. It is bright and never wavers when placed next to other colours."

"Has it occurred to you that the Force may have guided you to create a red lightsaber because you like the colour?"

"The Force is incredibly complex, after millennia of devotion we haven't even scratched the surface.

Yet for all it's complexity its ways are laughably simple at times.

I like to think the Jedi Code resembles the Force somewhat. It contradicts itself, yet its truth is undeniable. And like the Jedi Code everyone follows it differently."

"I will think about what you have said. And I shall also have a long look at the Jedi Code again... Your idea of contradiction sounds intriguing."

Ajava started to carefully collect the parts of her lightsabers-under-construction and wrapped them up again. As she finished putting the parts back in the bag, she stood up. "Thank you master", she said with a bow towards master Leithor, preparing to leave and go to the gardens to think.

((OOC: I'm done here I think. Not all roleplay needs to be long :) Of course, if the Jedi master has more to say or ask, Ajava won't just walk out the door...))
