Catastrophic Trails
Ariana was already suited up and in the airlock waiting for Trigiel to report back. When he said that he needed her help she did not hesitate. "I will be right there."
Ariana opened the airlock and hovered down to his location.
She looked at the door and used an overwrite that would bypass the alarm.
"Go ahead Trigiel, the alarm is disabled."

Once Ariana said he was good to go, Trigiel entered the airlock. "Are you coming with me or staying outside?" He asked her.
"You should check it out first. I am not as stealthy as you are."
"Ok, but I am not stealthy either." As Trigiel walked to the air lock panel, his metal feet made a *clonk* *clonk *clonk* sound, as to emphasize that Trigiel was indeed not very stealthy. Next, he activated the airlock end went inside, remaining wary of his environment as he didn't know what to expect exactly.

Ajava looked at the two padawan bickering about who was the stealthiest.
With as little sound as possible she walked into the airlock with Trigiel, softly speaking to him. "Padawan Trigiel, stop making so much noise just to prove your point. You can do a stealth contest when we are back at the temple, right now we focus on the mission."
Once inside, she motioned for Trigiel to wait for a moment. She mustered the necessary concentration, and intently looked around to see if anything was amiss. While exploring, she made sure to trust the force as she knew that it would allow her to see through darkness, steam and smoke.

Even when Ajava had gotten overly dressed, and Ariana and herself had joined Trigiel at the door, there still was no answer at the door.
Ariana hooked up the communications pad she had brought to the doors systems, quickly bypassing the door alarms so Trigiel could open it as Ajava made sure there were no guards or traps on the other side using the Force.
((OOC: Your checks are high enough! approved.))
Moments later, the door slid open, without alarms and without traces of entry that would remain.
Moving inside, the three Jedi entered a short hallway lit by flickering lights. As the door closed behind them, they could hear the sounds of suction, as grates near the floor sucked air out of the room while grates near the ceiling pumped fresh air in. Soon the doors on the other side of the hallway opened, revealing a similar flickering light inside, as well as electrical sparks in the distance.
The hallway opened into a small room which featured environmental suits on the left and breathing aparatusses on ther right, seemingly made for various species. Further ahead, a pair of sliding doors was slowly closing, hitting a crate that had been positioned in between the two doors, and then opening again quickly, as if it was apologetic for accidentally squishing the crate, but then suffering amnesia about the entire experience a few moments later to repeat the pattern.
Beyond the looping doors lay a large room, the hall opening into a circular walkway that surrounded a large open area about a floor below, a stairway leading into it from the walkway on four sides. The sparks they had seen came from inside here, and it was clear the facility had taken some damage, likely from when the lava partially covered it.
If the Jedi wanted to explore further, they should probably bring some of their own lights, as the lamps flickered intermittently. That said, the damage so far did not seem to be so horrible as to justify abandoning the facility - there might be a need for an electrician and a cleaning crew, but the main structure remained intact and most of the systems appeared at first glance to be in working order - no doubt the large room would have some computer terminals that could be accessed, and perhaps there was more to explore there as well.

"Let's do a quick survey of the next room, and see if we can find anything that indicates those we are looking for were here. Ariana, we should also do a check for useful data on the computer systems. And Trigiel and me should have a peek into hallways, if there are any."
Ajava ignited her red regular-length lightsaber to provide some illumination, trusting the force to allow her to see in these averse lighting conditions.
Not willing to let the amnesic doors fully close, she times her jump to bridge the crate when the doors are at their widest, landing with cat like grace on the other side. Once there, she tries to find tracks and, together with Trigiel if he comes along, checks the other hallways.

Ariana activated her yellow regular blade and used it as her light source. She moved towards the computer terminals to look for information on the base. She accessed the terminal and looked for information about why the base was abandoned or other important information that might give them a clue.

Then he went together with Ajava to have a look around in the next room and any hallways. If needed, he switched to his night vision. He hoped that his headlight would provide enough light. From time to time he also checked the heat vision to see what that shows. For now, Trigiel also let the doors be for what they were, although inside, he felt no real reason to do so.

Ajava easily moved into the next room. It was clear this space had been used: there were cans of energy drinks standing near various stations and someone had hung out their laundry on one of the railings. There was a strange orange dusty fingerprints covering one of the stations, though the orange colour might simply be a consequence of the mix of lightsaber lighting. A gaming console with controllers appeared to be hooked up to a large screen on one side.
Between this, and the various clutter, the exploration gave the impression as if a bunch of very boring teenagers had been living here until something shook up the station and messed up the electronics. Inspecting the energy drink without touching it, Ajava noticed that it had mold on it. It had been here a while, but no more than a week or so.
From this room, there were doors on four sides, including the amnesiac doors they had just passed through. Each of the doors was closed, but they were not locked.
Ariana used the computer terminal to get some information on the base. It appeared they had already explored most of it. The compound consisted of a main room with side rooms on four sides, like a + sign. One of the arms they had entered through and the other three were marked 'bedroom', 'computer room' and 'meeting room' respectively.
There was one more room, and it lay below the one they were currently in. The schematics indicated it was a 'seismic sensorgraph scanner room'. There was no indication how one would get there or what it was for however, though perhaps one of the other rooms offered access.
Trigiel meanwhile communicated with R4-G6, who replied "Bleep-bloop-bleep", confirming that the command had been received and would be executed. Between his headlight and the lightsabers, things were bright enough to make out when their eyes got used to the dark.

"Right. I'll start with the bedroom, You two check the other two rooms."
She moved to the bedroom, and had a look. Starting with just looking, but moving on to more intensive examinations with actually opening closets, looking underneath the bed and checking out written things and things like scratches on the wall.

"Ariana, you are better with computers, I will take the meeting room." Trigiel walked to the room indicated as 'meeting room'. Inside, he first looked around without touching anything. Then he moved chairs, tables and other stuff to better search the are of any clues. He especially looked if he could find the 'seismic sensorgraph scanner room'.
If there were documents he read them.

The bedroom held the scent of 12 day old socks and the floor was littered with various articles of clothing. On the left and right were two bunks each, suggesting the station held room for four occupants, none of whom bothered making their beds. Between the bunks were poster depictions of celebrities that probably had not dressed down as much as the edited images depicted.
In the back of the bedrooms was a door leading to a mould infested shower room and toilet which smelled of bleach. Fortunately. The scent was likely due to the way the waste was stored rather than any recent attempts at cleaning the unit.
An archaeological expedition revealed that the laundry cycle here consisted of a body-to-floor-to-body pattern, while the only thing hidden were images that left even less to the imagination than the posters. This meant Ajava unfortunately did not uncover any additional information.
The meeting room was quite the contrast to the rest of the base. The central feature in the room was a long table surrounded by four chairs, two on each side, and a larger chair at the head facing towards the door. As he entered, Trigiel saw the corners of the large chair light up with fake blue holographic flames, blue lights powering up slowly to reveal the walls being painted with a stone-like structure and a fog generator activating to hide the floor in fog as soft music began to play. Whomever had decorated this meeting room had obviously meant to re-purpose it from "businesslike" to "fantastic". On the table lay data-pads and various platonic solids made out of plastic and decorated by numbers.
Searching through the room, Trigiel found an electric whiteboard hidden behind a fake panel, which revealed that despite the repurposing of the room, at least it was sometimes used for work. The whiteboard showed detailed readings of seismic activity with various numbers being circled.
Searching further, Trigiel managed to find several files with notes, building up an image of what the base was used for (though not why the room was decorated as it was): in the seismic sensor-graph scanner room was a piece of highly advanced ground radar, that was using pulses to study the interior of the planet. Using the device, the researchers had found something which had had them excited as the many exclamation points and circles indicated. Unfortunately, not being a seismologist, Trigiel couldn't make out what exactly they had found. Perhaps Ariana would have more luck with that?
The computer room appeared about as boring as a computer room could be. There were computers, buzzing away, blinking lights and that was it. Searching carefully, Ariana managed to find a secret stash of candy-bars and alcoholic drinks that someone had hidden in a cooling system, no doubt to keep it cool.
Accessing the computer system, Ariana confirmed Trigiels finding that the station was using ground radar to scan everything. It also indicated a set of coordinates where it was making a much more detailed investigation than anywhere else - checking, she found the coordinates matched perfectly with the exotic matter reading in the deeper part of the ocean on the northern hemisphere.
What was more interesting however was that all the readings of that location had been deleted. No doubt the ground radar could be used again, but it appeared to be currently offline, the system indicating that "urgent maintenance was required." Helpfully, the system informed Ariana how she could get from the computer room to the ground radar by using a maintenance access hatch hidden behind a panel in the main room.

Once she hears Ariana, she responds with "Ariana, I'll join you."

In the main hall Trigiel saw Ariana and Ajava ready to enter the hatch: "From what I've found, this station is/was used as a sensor station to measure seismic activities. I've also found some data the people were very excited about but I couldn't make any of it.
The room downstairs should be a very advanced detector to scan the interior of the planet.
If you two go downstairs, then I will stay here."
When the two other jedi entered the seismic chamber, Trigiel walked around in the compound, looking out windows to see how the situation was there while he waited till the other two were done or had found something.

Trigiel found that most of the station had been covered by solidified lava. The station actually appeared to be resilient to this, having taken only minor damage from this. It did block out all the windows, though there hadn't been that many to begin with.
Climbing down several ladders and stairs, Ariana and Ajava soon found why the "urgent maintenance was required". The ground radar, a device the size of a small spacecraft located in a large room underneath the rest of the structure, had been severely damaged by someone who had burned several long holes in the device's primary core.
Inspecting the damage, it appeared as if someone had sliced through the device with a long object of a high temperature. Whatever had caused this, one thing was clear - the device was completely destroyed and needed to be entirely replaced.
With that discovery, it appeared as if the Jedi had gathered all the information this place was going to offer them.

"Hmmm, either someone is very good with a welding torch, or this damage was done with a lightsaber.", Ajava said after inspecting the damage to the ground radar.
"Hey Trigiel", Ajava started knowing that Ariana would hear it as well, "the damage here seems to be from either a very long welding torch, or a lightsaber. Ariana and me are coming back up, maybe we should combine what each of us found to get the whole picture?"
With that, Ajava made her way upstairs again. As Ariana said she would have a look at the computers, Ajava looked at her expectantly.

"It does look like lightsaber damage... If that is the case the only explanation I can think of is that a Sith is hiding something near the exotic matter reading on this planet. The ground radar was focused on scanning that location and all data about that location was carefully deleted. I believe we know where to go next."

"Maybe the readings the people in here were exited about were about the scanner being sliced? No that would make no sense at all. I don't believe I have anything more to add, besides that this facility is made to resist lava and has very few windows. Lets go."

Trigiel walked back to show Ariana the data he found in the conference room.
