After analysing the data, Ariana determined that whatever data had been discovered was created a little bit over a week ago, and deleted a day later, though there was no telling what the exact timeline was. The deletion was a lot cleaner than the destruction of the ground radar regardless.

With this information found, the three Jedi were ready to make their way back to the ship and head elsewhere.

((OOC: If you wish to do anything else in this location, please specify so now as you may not be returning here again. Also let me know where you are going next explicitly please :) In my next post (eta thursday), I will move everyone to the new location and describe what they find there.))

"Ok, it's very likely that the readings indicate either a crashed vessel, or someone is using the readings to mask their vessel's signature. I think we should have a look at the origin of these readings."

With that, Ajava continued with her original plan of going to the ship, getting rid of the annoying envirosuit and preparing to go diving.

"Yes, let's go."

Trigiel also went back to the ship and made the necessary preparations for a prolonged stay under water. He final checked his water jet engines on the legs and whether his lightsabers were indeed waterproof. When everything was fine, he was ready to go diving!

If his lightsaber was not waterproof, he asked Ajava: "Master Shebi, you are skilled in making lightsabers right? In which case, can you properly make my sabers waterproof for now?"

((OOC: I just realised that I posted in the equipment post that I made my sabers waterproof, but that I didn't post an actual check to do so. Thus hereby, the check as it should have been.))

"Let's move to the exotic matter reading and check it out from up close."

Ariana joined the group on their ship. She did not bother storing her space-suit. Since it was only a short flight to the exotic matter reading she just positioned herself in the piloting seat and flew towards the location where the exotic matter reading was beneath the water. When they arrived at the location she hovered the ship at a reasonable distance above the sea level and used the ships scanners once more to hopefully get more information about the readings.

((OOC: Trigiel: I am not sure what the ruling is on waterproofing lightsabers and checks related to it. I accept that your lightsaber is now waterproof regardless.

Ariana: You still cannot use programming to scan an area. Please do not include it in future scans.))

Readings from below the surface were vague at best, exotic matter disrupting sensors. Whatever was going on there, it was putting out large amounts of exotic matter radiation. Fortunately, the water was quite an effective shield, so the actual danger was minimal, it just meant sensors were on the fritz and not able to offer much.

Despite the disruption, the sensors were able to pinpoint the location of the source of the radiation: on a ledge above a deeper undersea cliff, half a kilometre or so under the surface. Likely the exact source of the exotic matter radiation would be quite obvious once they got there. At this site, sensors also picked up was signatures of large amounts of metals, which suggested a ship or a construction of some sort. The radiation obscured any further readings.

Half a kilometre was about the limit that regular diving equipment could help the Jedi get to, so they'd have to avoid going too far over the cliff: going much deeper required more specialized and less practical equipment due to the enormous pressures. They should also make sure to bring lights as at this depth, sunlight simply did not penetrate.

Diving down to that depth would probably take some time, and transit time from the surface to the exotic matter source would likely be some ten minutes or so using the driver propulsion vehicle and water jet engines Trigiel and Ajava brought. Thanks to modern technology, they had more than enough air, but they should probably make sure they had everything they needed before going down.

((OOC: I already have a list of your equipment, so no need to provide that. I'm not putting you underwater yet to give you a chance to discuss a plan, or take other actions before the dive, but unless someone objects I will presume you are all ready to head down there by next post.))

"Finally, some swimming", was Ajava's reaction as she donned her flippers. She had already attached her lightsabers to the belt of her wetsuit.

"Our communicators will most likely only work for short distances as the water will block most transmissions. We should make sure not to get separated. And me and Ariana won't be able to talk, so we'll have to rely on telepathy."

She grabbed her driver propulsion vehicle, "Ready?"

"I am not equipped for such a long dive. I think it is best if I stay with the ship. I will keep an eye on the scanners and notify you when things change. I can still communicate with you using the telepathic bond."

Ariana waits in the ship for the others to make the dive.

"I'm ready." Trigiel said.

"Wait, that's right, you can't talk. But I can. You can sent telepathic messages right? Then we should be all-right. Let's go."

((OOC: Apologies for the delays, my life's a bit chaotic and not everyone had posted yet. My next post here will be on Monday at which time we'll go back to our regular Monday-Thursday schedule.))

Ariana waited above water. There probably would not be much she could do from there though she might be able to slice into systems from a distance if Ajava or Trigiel hooked something up the them.

Swimming down, Ajava and Trigiel felt a disturbance in the force, as if something was up. It felt familiar to Ajava, though she could not quite place it, and it got stronger the further down they went.

Some ten minutes later, Ajava and Trigiel finally reached the depth of the signal. Down here, the water was icy cold and visibility was basically zero except for the lights they had with them, and Ariana was able to guide them using sensors until they got close, where the depth and local radiation made sensors mostly useless for precision movement.

On the edge of the underwater cliff was a giant crane, lit up by several lamps and extending over the abyss. It appeared to have pulled up a large rock from the depths, which was now hanging from the crane precariously over the cliffs mouth. The crane appeared to have been constructed there recently as there was no sea-weed or dust on the yellow metal.

Next to the crane was a sea-container, seemingly designed to contain the rock, were it not for the fact that it was too small for the massive stone. That had not stopped the crane operators from trying though, and the dents in the container doors proved the failure.

Connected to the sea-container was a small underwater vessel, big enough for two people, and with a large enough propeller to move it and the container. The headlights of the submarine lit up the cranes base.

Most importantly however was the sign of three figures in diving suits not unlike the ones Ajava was wearing who were swimming around the large stone. One of them was using a red lightsaber to carve into the rock, causing a lot of bubbles to rise up towards the surface as the water was boiled by the molten stone.

Upon seeing the red lightsaber, Trigiel immediately turned down his yellow flashing headlight as much as possible. Maybe they were not seen yet, so there was no reason to give themselves away. However he needed his headlight to see, so he could not turn it off though. He cycled trough is infra red, ultra violet and night vision to see if he could use any of them so see more.

Trigiel quickly went to their mission objectives in his mind: Bring back any one escaped from the research centre in for questioning, and retrieve any kind of stolen research.

So it probably would be worthwhile to discover if these people escaped from the research facility, and if there was any stolen research here. But there was a high possibility that the three unidentified persons with the lightsaber wouldn't just tell them.

"Shebi Ajava, let's go closer to see if we can see more. But I expect more of them around. Maybe I can go to them, pose as a droid and talk to them. Maybe they are not careful with what they will say to a droid. If you stay hidden, then we have some element of surprise if necessary."

((Check: 11 = 6 Force Level + 5 Vision -- sensitive optics (infra red, ultra violet, night sight zoom function). For seeing of any of his options worked and if he could see some more of the unidentified guys.))

((OOC: Droids in the star wars setting which uses lights to see always have them on. When their lights are turned off, they become blind. I assume this works the same for Trigiel, what also reduces the factor of 'Oh look, I'm a cyborg, I can do anything' :).))

Ariana is waiting in the ship. She keeps an eye on the scanners to make sure no surprises pop up. When the two are only a short distance away from the reading Ariana contacts Shebi Ajava.

"You should be in range of the exotic matter reading now. What is it?"

At the moment she has not much more to do than wait for Shebi Ajava to contact her with any progress.

"There's a container and submersible. And a crane that pulled something from the abyss.", Ajava replied to Ariana.

"No", Ajava communicated with Trigiel, "That won't work. They will not expect a droid here, and they will simply attack you if they have something to hide. I feel a familiar disturbance in the force. I think I encountered one these people before."

"Let's approach them stealthily first. If we stay outside of the light cone, they will have great difficulty seeing us, and we can get a look at the vehicle and container first before peeking over the edge."

Ajava started downward toward the container, making sure to stay outside of the light cones so she won't appear as a silhouette against the black ocean. Once there, she had a good look at the container and vehicle before sneakily swimming to a dark part of the edge to peer at the people from closer by.

The other light sensors did not really help Trigiel, though his night vision made things slightly better - there where there were light-sources anyway. After informing Ariana, the two wetter Jedi swam stealthily towards the container and submarine.

The container was nothing too special at first glance: it was basically a large crate. However, its walls were surprisingly thick, so there might be more to it than that.

Swimming past, they noticed a shadow inside the submarine - fortunately their stealth was enough for it not to have noticed them. Looking at the crane, the Jedi noticed the three were still busy, one of them slicing up the rock with a red lightsaber. They also noticed someone was operating the crane, trying to keep the stone steady as it was being sliced.

This meant there were 5 people down here (in addition to the two Jedi), not just the three they had seen earlier. Perhaps this new information would give the Jedi an edge?

"Can you disable it in a way that you can get it running again later on?", Ajava asked. "I'm not sure about this yet, I'll try to get a little closer without being seen -- maybe I can recognize the one with the saber."

Ajava tried to get closer to the figure with the saber. Without being seen, of course. Once there, she analyses the figure, to see if she knows this person from somewhere. She remembers a saber-wielding woman on the Hutt research station where research with exotic matter was being done, could this be her?

"I should be able to."

While Ajava tried to get a closer look on the person, Trigiel swam underneath the car, looking for a way to disable it in a way so he could repair it. Removing a vital part was probably the best way.

As Ariana waited above water, Ajava slowly swam closer. Just as she did, she could see the figure with the lightsaber stopping their activity. From here she could make out that it was a humanoid woman, but the rest was invisible due to the black wetsuit and breathing mask she was wearing. She'd have to get a lot closer to see a face.

The woman turned her head to look straight in Ajava and Trigiels direction. From her response, she did not seem to see them yet, but apparently she had picked up on 'something being up' as she motioned to the other swimmers to continue working, slowly swimming in their direction. Ajava might get a chance to look at her up close sooner than she had planned!

Meanwhile, Trigiel swam under the submarine, moving to access its systems. They were complicated, but he was a skilled mechanical engineer, and using this skill he sabotaged the vessels propeller by wrapping some seaweed tightly around the axis and machinery. The vessel would not go anywhere, and it would be possible for him to repair it in a few minutes later by simply tearing the seaweed out of there, but this also meant someone else would be able to fix it quickly. For now it would serve its purpose however.

Ajava was not sure about the identity of the woman yet, but suspects her to be the woman from the research station. Not knowing the abilities of the others around, she was glad that they group was splitting up. If Trigiel succeeded in sabotaging the vessel, they would most likely have the upper hand in the coming fight.

But, Ajava would like to postpone the fight for just a little bit longer, so she and Trigiel can dispatch the driver and the crane operator first... "This is going sideways. Trigiel, hide. If we get into a fight, start with subduing the support, I'll keep the woman busy."

Ajava quickly looked around to find a hiding place, some seaweed, a rock, or even a shallow pit would do. She then quickly moved there to hide, and hopefully let the woman pass without noticing her.

Ajava moved towards a hiding place, covering behind some seaweed near the edge of the cliff, between the crane and the submarine.

The woman stopped, scanning around, then moving again, seemingly heading straight for Ajava... The Veolian Jedi was reasonably sure she had not been spotted, but the woman was using the Force to find her target, so simply hiding behind things was not enough to escape.

Activating her lightsaber once more, the woman readied for battle!

((OOC: Your stealth check was high enough to give you some advantage, as the woman is aware of your general, but not your precise location. You can use this to get a +2 bonus any Direct Combat Action check or Advantage Action check in your first round.

Oh, did I mention this will be Round 0? Ajava, Trigiel, please pick a lightsaber styles. Ariana is not currently engaged in battle and basically can sit around twiddling her thumbs for now, but keep an eye on this thread, as there may be events relevant for you shortly!

Combat here is underwater, which should pose some interesting challenges. Water is a great hindrance to mobility. However, this affects everyone equally (except Aquatic species, of which we have none present here). For this reason, I will not put any special conditions into effect and we'll use the basic combat rules, as it will keep things simpler.

Your opponent is currently wielding a single lightsaber with a short red blade and curved handle. She appears to be using the Ataru Combat Style.))

Ajava mentally envisioned a number of openings, and after reviewing the styles she knew, she opts to try a fast disarming strategy.

Like a predator, she remained still, waiting to pounce when the woman came much closer, hoping to get an advantage in the first strike.
